What a mature innings this has been from Sophia Dunkley. To think you're walking out on Test debut with England in the midst of a collapse, against a fired-up India side, and to play with such composure. And she's played some absolutely stonking shots, too.

She came into this team with a great deal of hype, and Sophie Dunkley has lived up to it.

The 22-year-old has punished the bad balls and worked away the better ones. She has 51 from 101 balls.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Dunkleypublished at 110.1 overs

A glance down to fine leg brings up the 50 for Sophie Dunkley.

She has batted superbly, shown grit yet played her shots.

Dunkley raises the bat, looks towards her mum in the stands and then embraces Ecclestone.

    A debut to remember.

Lots of flight and full deliveries from Sharma, as Ecclestone defends a maiden. Not much else to report.

    Over to you, Sophia.

In fairness to the umpire, it did look out at first glance. As Henry says, that's what the review system is there for.

Dunkley is now just two runs away from her 50. Remember, she was dropped on 27...

I like that Dunkley was confident enough on debut to use the review system - that's what it's there for and it's great to see it being used in the women's game.

Joy for England and joy for Sophia Dunkley, with the TV replay showing it would have missed leg stump.

Has Dunkley fallen four short of a debut half-century? She's back in her crease and struck on the pads, Rana and India are convinced and it's given out. England review. This is close.

  9. Eng 316-7published at 108 overs

Dunkley's positioning is impressive, she moves her feet to make some room and flick the ball through the leg side for a single.

Ecclestone blocks out the rest of the over. Just the one from it.

I love that Sneh Rana could easily bowl an entire ODI innings here, she's already on 35. I'm wiped out for at least a few days when I get through 10.

    Dunkley 41, Ecclestone 16

A quick search tells me there is a town called Bristol in Pennsylvania. Let's just be grateful Alex didn't turn up there instead.

Three singles from the over, England are running between the wicket very nicely.

I didn't realise how close we are to Cardiff here [in Bristol]. I was planning my travelling for next week and I only thought it was a couple of hours from where I live up north, but no. More than four hours. I was very wrong.

There's a big discussion going on between the umpires and India captain Mithali Raj. Sophie Ecclestone has her hand on her hips - if I was a body language expert, I'd say she wants them to hurry up.

I've enjoyed this first hour. They've been sensible but balanced that with playing aggressively. It's good to see and Heather Knight said she wanted to get 350 on the board, that's definitely doable now.

Dunkley works Sharma off the hips for another single, moving along to 39. Will the 22-year-old reach a half-century on debut? I wouldn't bet against it.

    Time for drinks.

  16. Eng 311-7published at 105.1 overs

It's wide and short from Sharma and Dunkley rocks back in her crease and pummels it through cover for a boundary. Poor ball, quality shot.

Sophia Dunkley really can hit the ball hard. She dislocated one of my fingers in a net session.

  18. Not outpublished at 104.5 overs

    Eng 307-7

Terrible review, the spin would have taken the ball well wide of leg stump.

    As we were.

  19. India reviewpublished at 104.5 overs

    Eng 307-7

Ecclestone is hit on the pads, it looks very high and given not out but India go for the review.

  20. Eng 306-7published at 104.3 overs

"Come on girls, get on with it," umpire Sue Redfern frustratingly tells the India team as they take their time in changing ends.

A nudge into the leg side from Dunkley and prod to the off side from Ecclestone adds two more to England's total.

This partnership is now worth 36 runs.
