There's a real noise around India's fielders this morning. Yesterday was a long day, epitomised by Jhulan Goswami, who looked absolutely exhausted after bowling in a Test for the first time since 2014. But they have pulled up well this morning.

Captain and bowler seem to have a long conversation every few balls or so. It's really not doing much for India's bowling rate.

Dunkley paddles Sharma down to fine leg for two runs. She has a real variety of shots in her locker.

Sharma floats in a looping delivery and Ecclestone almost edges it towards Shafali Verma at point, the ball falling just short.

Two youngsters, one on debut, both have big smiles on their faces as they bump fists to acknowledge England's 300. That's nice to see.

  4. 300 runs

    Eng 301-7published at 103 overs

Ecclestone drags the ball to mid-on and brings up England's 300. Last night captain Heather Knight said that was the first innings score they were aiming for. Surely now 350 is on the cards?

We might see these two play some shots now. Dunkley has been in fantastic form in the 50-over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy this year, scoring 196 runs from three innings.

Dunkley just looks so composed playing on the leg side, again clipping Sharma through mid-wicket with ease. Ecclestone nudges the ball down to long-on for another single.

So just the one wicket to fall today, as India successfully overturned the umpire's decision to dismiss Katherine Brunt...

Goswami now has 41 Test wickets - level with Katherine Brunt, having just got her out and overtaking her as the leading women's lbw-taker. There really isn't much separating the two veterans of the game.

    Ecclestone 12, Dunkley 27

Sophie Ecclestone has looked to play some shots since she's come in, as she pushes Rana through off side for two runs.

The England pair consider going for the the third but opt against it.

Just the two from the over.

  9. dropped catch

    Eng 295-7

Deepti Sharma has dropped a sitter. The spinner gives it plenty of flight, Dunkley drives it back towards the bowler who spills a waist-height catch.

Always difficult to take a grab off your own bowling, but that really should have been taken.

I think these two should be true to their natural game. They both like to play their shots and play freely so I think they will have been given a bit of a licence to move the game along quickly here.

Now then, that's a beauty from Rana which turns an absolute mile!

Dunkley is forward, the ball pitches outside off, spins off the turf, through the gate and into the hands of Taniya Bhatia behind the stumps.

It may have just flicked the pad, India optimistically appeal but decide not to review. A good decision as replays show it was umpire's call.

    A great delivery, nevertheless.

Just nine overs into the new ball and India now have spin from both ends, with Deepti Sharma coming on to bowl.

There are two short legs in place as India look to suffocate the England batters, but Ecclestone does well to nudge it towards extra cover for two.

A leading edge from Eccclestone almost sends the ball ballooning back towards the bowler, falling just short of Sharma.

Just the two overs from Pandey as India captain Mithali Raj turns to spin, with Sneh Rana coming into the attack.

Dunkley confidently works Rana down to fine leg for two runs, before sweeping the off-spinner for a single. The England debutant has look so assured at the crease.

A single for Ecclestone down to mid-off ends the over.

The hosts are keeping the scoreboard ticking along.

That's a really good shot from Dunkley. Two slips and a backward point, and she's carved it through all of them. I've been really impressed with her in this innings.

  17. Eng 286-7published at 96 overs

Goswami has 11 Tests, 186 ODIs and 68 T20s to her name. There are experienced cricketers in the game, and then there's Jhulan Goswami.

The 38-year-old continues with three slips in place, two of which have sunglasses resting on top of their caps. I can't see any sunshine piercing through the Bristol clouds anytime soon.

Too full from Goswami and Dunkley easily clips it through the leg side for four. The England batter then plays with soft hands to guide the ball through gully for another boundary.

Lovely batting and important runs for England as they eye that 300 mark.

Ecclestone can hit the ball as hard and as far as anyone in this England team but I'd say the only thing getting in her way is she's a bit hot-headed. She loves a big swing!

  19. Eng 277-7published at 95 overs

    Ecclestone 6, Dunkley 13

A single for Dunkley brings Ecclestone on strike who carves it to deep point for two. A nice way to get off the mark.

She follows that with a scrumptious, well-timed drive through cover for the first boundary of the day.

    Seven from Pandey's over.
