Mandhana 15, Verma 18
Mandhana gets hold of a loose short ball from Shrubsole and clatters it past a diving Sophia Dunkley.
I would imagine that'll be it for Shrubsole's first spell, she seems to be getting a bit tired.
Here was that boundary from Verma that got Brunt a little riled.

Mandhana had a little smirk on her face after she played that shot. The ball has done nothing in the air or off the pitch.
Mandhana hits a lovely back-foot punch to the cover boundary and six runs come from Sciver's first over.
The players take a drink.

India have looked pretty comfortable. England need to take advantage of this moving ball.
A tidy maiden from Shrubsole as England keep searching for a way to break this opening partnership.
A change of bowling as Nat Sciver comes on, replacing Brunt.
Plenty of ice cream chat on TMS is making me envious. I'm with Alex - double cone with a flake every time, surely?!

That was the most gorgeous shot. She was just leaning on it and letting the face of the ball fly off it.
Lovely stuff from Verma who effortlessly steers one down to third man for four, and is greeted by another Katherine Brunt stare.
She responds with a short ball that Verma thumps over the leg side for three.
This is getting fun.
Meanwhile our Test Match Special colleagues are having a great time.

We heard a lot from India about how they're approaching this match. They've got some very experienced red-ball cricketers.
A close one for Mandhana as she inside edges past her stumps.
A couple of nice drives but England seem to have diving players everywhere ... and as I type that Verma punches a glorious cover drive for four. Timing.
Mandhana 4, Verma 7
Mandhana mistimes a pull into the leg-side but it avoids all fielders and lands safely.
We then get a glimpse of the Shafali Verma we've come to know and love as she whips the ball aerial to cow corner.
Brunt is not happy - she attempts a bouncer that doesn't bounce, but you've got to love her enthusiasm.
An eventful over.
Mandhana 3, Verma 5
Well, that's made me feel ancient. Born in 2004 and playing a Test match? Criminal.
Verma gets an outside edge, but it drops short of second slip. A conference follows between captain and bowler, presumably about field positions.

Mandhana 2, Verma 5
Another stunning drive from Mandhana finds a diving Georgia Elwiss at cover before she gets out the pull shot again for a single.
These two both seem happy to defend and play themselves in at this stage.
A stare from Brunt is met by a youthful smile from Verma - things you love to see.

It was a reaching, streaky shot which is a good sign for England. It was a leading edge.
Verma gets a four off the outside edge past a diving gully - it was streaky but that will make her feel a bit more comfortable.
She plays out the rest of the over nicely. She has a very aesthetically pleasing technique.

I was a little bit surprised at Verma opening, throwing a 17-year-old in with Katherine Brunt bowling at the start is quite frightening.
