  1. Eng 165-9published at 45 overs

A lovely straight drive from Tash Farrant races away for four. She's certainly not batting like a number 11 at the moment!

And then next ball she is beaten all ends up by Hayley Jensen, the ball somehow missing absolutely everything.

If you're fancying anyone on the pitch to take that catch it would be Lauren Down - it was a magnificent effort. I'm not sure anyone else would get near it.

That was a hard chance, but these are valuable runs for England.

  4. dropped catch

Farrant dropped on 0published at 44.1 overs

Ooh, close! It's not an easy chance at all, Farrant driving aerially through the off side and Lauren Down makes a stunning dive at point but this time, it slips through the fingers.

She did well to even get a hand to it, but definitely a missed opportunity.

  5. Eng 159-9published at 44 overs

Katherine Brunt is such good value. She misses out on a short ball from Leigh Kasperek and is so livid that she hits herself on the helmet.

She will give everything she's got to see out these last overs for England.

If England can bat these overs out and get another 30-40 runs they'll really feel in the game. A swing of momentum is a weird thing in cricket.

  7. Eng 157-9published at 43 overs

Molly Penfold completes her 10 overs and finishes with 2-42. A solid debut, that.

Kate Cross and Katherine Brunt played really nicely. They just took the right risks, and it was really handy partnership.

England are in a better position than when Tash Farrant came to the crease in the second game on Sunday. They were 146-9 then.

  10. Eng 155-9published at 42 overs

    Brunt 41, Farrant 0

Can England avoid being bowled out again?

That partnership between Cross and Brunt could turn out to be crucial, and Farrant has showed her worth with the bat already this series.

Tash Farrant is by no means the standard number 11 - she can bat.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 21 September 2021

Cross run out Kasperek 29 (154-9)

She has! What a way to go!

Katherine Brunt nails the ball back at the bowler who gets a finger on it which ricochets onto the stumps. Cross is taking a stroll down the pitch and can't make it back in time.

I reckon Kate Cross is gone here.

Is this the piece of magic?! Has Kate Cross been run out at the non-striker's end?

These two have played really mature innings. Katherine Brunt has obviously played a lot of cricket for England, and is probably the first name on the team-sheet, but for her to do well with the bat, alongside the ball this summer, is really impressive.

  16. Eng 154-8published at 41.1 overs

You won't get much magic bowling there. Short and down the leg side from Leigh Kasperek, and Brunt helps it on its way for four.

    That's the 50 partnership.

  17. Eng 150-8published at 41 overs

    Brunt 36, Cross 29

Applause ripples around the ground as Katherine Brunt brings up England's 150. That milestone seemed almost impossible not long ago, which shows just how good this partnership has been.

New Zealand's energy have died down. Can someone produce some magic to pick them back up?

  18. Postpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 21 September 2021

    Molly Penfold continues.

She has 2-36, with a bit of help from Lauren Down for her second wicket.

  19. Eng 146-8published at 40 overs

10 overs left. At one stage it didn't look like England would make it to this stage so they'll be delighted. What can they get from here?
