Ooof! As expected, swing straight away in these breezy conditions. The ball pings back and hits Bairstow on the pads.

Seeing Brathwaite lobbing the ball up like that is an illustration of how the day has gone for the West Indies. But now it's new ball time.
Yep! Kemar Roach will return to the attack. I love this part to the end of day one in a Test.
Brathwaite continues. A single from the over.
Bairstow has been excellent, but will be desperate to be back out there tomorrow morning.
The new ball is now available for West Indies.

Calm before the storm: Johnny Bairstow you absolute dancer! He was rightly dropped a couple of years ago but it is testament to his resolve that he has come back and put in a performance like this! Quality knock!
Bairstow 101, Woakes 10
Spin from both ends as Veerasammy Permaul comes back on. Woakes drives through the covers and Bairstow looks as fresh as when he started his innings by sprinting back for a second. A monumental effort from the Yorkshireman.

All the England players all came out to the balcony as Bairstow moved to 96 to applaud the only English centurion of the Ashes and the first centurion of this tour.
He came to the crease with England on 48-4. He has scored 101 from 190 balls with 17 fours. Pure brilliance.

Consecutive hundreds in Test matches for Jonny...he's irrespressible.
To come in at 48-4 on this pitch - this has to be one of his best hundreds.

YES HE CAN!
An eighth Test century for Jonny Marc Bairstow! He leaps in the air, unleashes a huge roar and the helmet comes off. He raises his bat and acknowledges cheers from all parts of the Sir Viv Richards Stadium.
A sublime innings. Perfectly paced after getting accustomed to the conditions and the state of the game. A true reminder to all just why he is an integral part of the England team in all formats.
Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite brings himself on. Jonny Bairstow turns the ball to short fine leg and moves to 97.
Woakes takes a single. Can Bairstow do it in this over?
Bairstow is made to wait for an opportunity to reach three figures as Woakes comfortably blocks out Alzarri Joseph's over.
Play can go on until 21:30 GMT today.
Bairstow 96, Woakes 5
Jason Holder has been the standout bowler for West Indies. He's picked up two wickets and conceded just 13 runs off 15 overs.
Another tidy over from the seamer but Bairstow takes a single to move one shot away from a century.
Woakes edges to slip and Jason Holder may have spilled this! It was a tough chance but I think he could have held on. Apart from a superb catch by wicket-keeper Joshua Da Silva to dismiss Zak Crawley, West Indies have been poor with their catching today.
And Woakes makes West Indies pay by playing with soft hands and guiding the ball past Holder for four.
Phew! Bairstow grounded his bat and is well in.
Eng 229-6
What a way this would be for Jonny Bairstow to go!! Chris Woakes punches Alzarri Joseph down the ground. The seamer is down low and gets a finger tip to the ball and deflect it onto the stumps at the non-striker's end.
I think Bairstow had grounded his bat backing up.
As Bairstow edges closer to a century, he is slightly more watchful against the dangerous Jason Holder. Maiden.
Bairstow 95, Woakes 0
Chris Woakes is yet to get off the mark but seems quite content in watching on enjoying the Jonny Bairstow show.
