It certainly has been a gruelling day for the West Indies on another flat surface.
Kemar Roach is equally trying to pick up something with this new ball burst but cannot find a way past Dan Lawrence's defence.
One run from that over.
England are going to put the shutters down in the final part of the day here.

John Frankland: Looking forward to watching live as Joe Root goes really big tomorrow. On our honeymoon but I’m sure the wife will understand if I’m a little distracted.
Jason Holder with the new ball in hand for the West Indies and there's a hint of swing for the all-rounder.
However, his final delivery to Dan Lawrence is slapped through the covers for four. A good riposte from the England batter.
He moves on to 81 - his Test best score.
Kraigg Brathwaite, eventually, takes the new cherry on offer.

For reasons best known to themselves, Lawrence and Root have started driving outside the off-stump without due care and attention.
Veerasammy Permaul rattles through another over with just one run taken from it by Joe Root to give a pumped-up Jayden Seales another go at the England batters.
Alzarri Joseph is still stood at slip, his cap pulled down over his eyes, looking very sheepish.
Root attempts a cut but it's a fresh air shot and Josh da Silva appeals more in hope than genuine expectation.

Alzarri Joseph isn't a natural slip fielder, and it showed from that attempt. They're holding back taking the new ball in the hope of taking it once they get a wicket. Everything went to plan...apart from the catching.
Oh dear. Jayden Seales is absolutely furious.
A flashy expansive drive from Dan Lawrence off Seales' final delivery is spilled by Alzarri Joseph in the slips.
It came quickly, but the ball was straight to Joseph and he really should have held on to that. Bread and butter for any slip fielder worth their salt.
Seales roars in frustration. Twice.

Having batted for so long together, Root and Lawrence will both want to be there at the end.
A wonderful story, Andrew. Thanks for that. I can only assume the dinner with Sir Garry wasn't a private one with you and him, though.
Jayden Seales backs up that tight over from Veerasammy Permaul . Dan Lawrence does well to dig out a yorker from his penultimate ball/

A few years ago after a dinner with Sir Garfield Sobers at Headingly I went to the toilet before catching the bus home and, as I was in a rush not to miss it, didn't bother to dry my hands. On leaving the toilets bumped into Sir Garfield, thanked him and we shook hands. The look of doubt on his face as he shook my wet hand still haunts me.

West Indies have opted not to take the new ball, which suggests they're worried about it coming off the bat even quicker with two established batsmen at the crease.
Veerasammy Permaul continues with the old cherry and Dan Lawrence is largely content to block out, with one eye on reaching the close with his wicket in tact.
He punches the final ball of Permaul's over down the ground for a single.

Ex-England captain on BT Sport
That is three muck-ups between Lawrence and Root now.
A run out chance as Dan Lawerence sets off from the non-striker's end trying to call Joe Root through for a risky single.
The England skipper stands his ground and sends him back and Lawrence is struggling to make his ground but the throw from the fielder at cover misses the stumps. That would have been tight.
Awkward glances and apologetic hand signals all round.

Jack Rule: I’m going to put this out there now and it’s not going to be popular but... this Test is going to end up in another draw! The pitch looks flatter and worse than last week.
Jayden Seales is back into the attack.
The new ball is available but he continues with the old ball initially to ensure he is well and truly hitting his straps before skipper Kraigg Brathwaite takes the new cherry, possibly.
West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua da Silva is doing his best in the engine room to encourage, cajole and inspire his team-mates into picking up another wicket.
Veerasammy Permaul strikes Dan Lawrence on the pad and there's a half-hearted appeal for lbw but the umpire in stonefaced.
Lawrence picks up a single off the final ball of the over to take strike.

There's a swimming pool here for fans. Masks obligatory. Now's the time to be in it... not sure how clean the water will be by tea on day five...
