I'm going to take a quick break myself. I'll leave you in the hands of man who has vocal chords the equal of Rihanna, and the lust for life of Garry Sobers. A potent combo.

I speak, of course, of Matthew Henry, who will guide you through the lunch break and the afternoon session.

A careful, cautious start for England, having won the toss. The West Indies bowlers have swung the ball, challenged the off stump, so it's not been straight forward for England.

Crawley's dismissal was disappointing, especially having scored a hundred at Antigua, but England have a modest platform to build upon.

The umpires take off the bails.

A bit of a pedestrian session for England, but they were 57-4 at lunch on day one in Antigua by comparison.

  4. Eng 47-1published at 30.0 overs

Joe Root flicks Kemar Roach for a single to bring Alex Lees back on strike in what is likely to be the final over before lunch.

Roach pitches one back of a length and Lees pulls his bat out of the way. The final ball of the over and Lees gets himself in line and the ball strikes his thigh before dribbling away.

Albert Family: Can't win. Alex Lees tries scoring fast and gets out, there's moaning about familiar failings. Bats as long as he can, takes the shine off the ball, tires the bowlers, there's moaning it's not fast enough. There are five days in a Test match.

  6. Eng 46-1published at 29.0 overs

Alex Lees has faced 80 plus dot balls now. Whether you're a fan of it, or not, he's doing his job for England at the top of the order.

The left-hander sees off another maiden over from Jayden Seales, ducking out the way of a bouncer from the West Indies paceman's final delivery.

Rakream: Lees 16* off 14 overs, some Test match opening batting this. Are we sure he’s an upgrade on Rory Burns? Sucking the life out of Test cricket…

  8. Eng 45-1published at 28.0 overs

Joe Root works Kemar Roach off his pads to break the string of dot balls but Alex Lees is happy to back his defence against the man who twice took his wicket in the first Test.

An attritional period of Test match cricket here.

Garry Sobers is still playing golf now at the 85. He's still going strong. He has a real sense of fun and enjoying life around him. It's hard to compare eras in terms of his greatness as an all-round cricketer. It's a pleasure to have him here watching cricket on his home patch.

A sprightly and svelte Garfield Sobers is holding court in the stands. He looks the picture of Bajan cool with an open-necked shirt with the top two buttons undone.

Jayden Seales makes it back-to-back maidens as Alex Lees continues a watchful passage of play for England.

I remember reading somewhere England's Barbados-born all-rounder Chris Jordan was in the same class at school as Rihanna.

Jason Holder is absolutely on the money, as he produces another maiden over to test Joe Root's powers of concentration.

In Antigua we'd drive past the house where Viv Richards grew up en route to the ground. Here we've driven past the house where Rihanna grew up. Who'd be more famous globally?

  15. Eng 44-1published at 24.5 overs

Jason Holder with a disciplined maiden over and Kraigg Brathwaite brings back his wicket-taker from earlier on as Jayden Seales replaces spinner Veerasammy Permaul.

Joe Root digs out a yorker from Seales' fourth ball to get off strike. Alex Lees ducks out of the way a bumper next ball.

Thanks for the tweet, Mike. Yes. Let us know how the pre-season preparations are going.

Joe Root seems happy to play Veerasammy Permaul as late as possible.

Third ball of the over and the England skipper notches a welcome boundary as he picks up the flight early and sweeps powerfully square of the wicket.

Nice and full from Jason Holder and that swing to the left-handed Alex Lees duly arrives. The England opener, however, is able to dig it out well.
