I'm impressed by the number of lower-league football shirts on display in the crowd. At England football internationals, you don't tend to get people wearing Derbyshire and Northants shirts.

  2. WI 210-3published at 85 overs

Nothing of note from Woakes. Two deliveries on the leg stump are clipped through mid-wicket. The remaining balls are left well alone or prodded away with ease.

    Unthreatening bowling.

Outrageous clobber that. But I'm all for it.

Matt Fisher doesn't quite get his line right. Brathwaite and Blackwood are able to tuck off the hip for a single each.

You hope that first over from Woakes hasn't set the tone for England here.

For those who haven’t brought their garish holiday shirts with them… they can peruse a wide selection behind the Greenidge & Haynes Stand.

    Brathwaite 87, Blackwood 50

More horrid bowling. A half-volley is given the treatment it deserves - a sweet straight drive back past the bowler for Brathwaite's second boundary of the over.

The partnership is now worth 103.

  7. WI 200-3published at 82.1 overs

Yuck. Wide and sitting up nicely for Brathwaite to drill through the covers. Four.

Hopefully England have had a long chat in the dressing room about the lengths that the spinners are bowling, and particularly the line that the seamers are bowling.

Right. The players are back in the middle. The fans are seated. My fingers are ready to type. Lets do this.

    Woakes to continue after tea.

This is a real opportunity with 500 runs in the bank, but it's the consistency that's been lacking, from Leach in particular.

Jasper in Verwood - Glenn McGrath didn't ever bowl at great pace. Now I'm not likening our current tepid-looking quicks to the great man himself, but it's proof that accuracy and a good line and length can be as good a weapon as raw pace. That said, this is very frustrating so I feel your pain.

You have to give West Indies a lot of credit for the patience they've shown. The soft ball plus good batting has meant we've had a rather slow session.

I think the bowlers are bowling pretty well and we'd struggle to bowl them out twice on this surface with a full strength attack, but really what this series is showing so far bowling wise is we've got a good stock of 3rd/4th bowlers available to us. Add Anderson, Broad, Stone, Wood and hopefully Archer back into the mix later in the year and we are a different beast.

    Here's hoping, Matt.

That was rather slow going, eh? A new ball is always significant, but you feel it's a must for England to make the most of it after tea.

I'm a generous man. I hope Kal Sajad gets more action than that in the final session. Kal is primed to take over now.

Twice in that over, Leach got the ball in the right area and spun past the outside edge. There simply hasn't been enough of that today.

And that is the end of the session. West Indies added 82 in that session without the loss of a wicket.

A determined innings from Blackwood, but Stokes' failure to review his lbw appeal when he was on nought was a let off. Since then, he's played very determinedly with his captain.

That's absolute rubbish from Jack Leach. Jermaine Blackwood cashes in. He goes to fifty from 113 balls.
