Since those early two wickets, England have failed to make much of an impression.

The England fans burst into a rendition of the Great Escape as Lance Corporal Fisher runs in. Even that bit of enthusiasm doesn't last more than a ball or two. It's so flat.
Joe Root is looking very much the 'latter Man Utd years David Beckham' today with his hair slicked back and held by an Alice band. I reckon Joe would be happy with the comparison. Who wouldn't?
He spoils his latest over by offering Blackwood a ball to hit from the sixth ball. It has been slapped to the fence.

Matthew Fisher has impressed me in this Test so far. His control has been really good.
Brathwaite 62, Blackwood 27
The Kensington Oval is as quiet and sleepy as it has been all Test. There's really not a lot to help the bowlers. Root beats the bat with his first delivery but the others are played easily enough.

After a barren spell for Leach, who was either bowling too full or too short, missing the good length, the captain is giving himself a go.
Joe Root has decided it's time for a go himself.
Brathwaite 61, Blackwood 26
Is it just me that thinks Matthew Fisher looks like a character from a First World War movie? Or maybe he would play a butler in the 207th period drama made this year.
Fisher's comeback over is eventful. There's a strong but optimistic lbw appeal, a lovely drive for four and a shout for caught down the leg side.
That one made me chuckle.
Jack Leach has not been at his best since lunch. There has been a boundary ball in most of his overs. This time Jermaine Blackwood is able to crack him off the back foot through a gap in the off side.
Matthew Fisher is coming back on.

Zak Crawley is wearing two pairs of sunglasses, one over his eyes and another on the top of his blue England cap. Again, why?
Mahmood bangs in a bouncer but it loops through to Ben Foakes like it was thrown underarm. West Indies have the measure of this docile surface, and the England bowling, at the moment.

It's another quiet over from Jack Leach.

England will have wanted more than their two wickets so far today given how the pitch is playing.
West Indies have knuckled down, waited for the ball to get softer, so giving the bowlers less bounce and grip. The bowling won't get quite as threatening until the new ball, unless Saqib Mahmood can find some reverse swing. At the moment he's bowling a bit too short or a bit too full.
Brathwaite 53, Blackwood 17
Careful, Darran. Has anyone else got experience of the umpiring at Swindon CC?
Mahmood ends his over with a decent delivery that moves in, takes inside edge and hits Blackwood on the hip. That'll bruise.

Dale from Swindon 16:33: Don't suppose you are Swindon CC's Umpire? Having played against them a couple of times, it would make sense!

The Kensington Oval "ahhhhhs" in unison as Jonny Bairstow makes a meal of a dive on the boundary edge. He'd sprinted 40 yards to get there but ended up in a heap. It's the second boundary in Leach's over. Runs are coming more freely off the spinner after lunch than before.
England bowlers are single-handedly keeping manufacturers of compression sleeves in business these days. Saqib Mahmood has his on today, Ben Stokes too. It's tidy from the Lancashire bowler who has only conceded 13 runs in 10 overs.
Brathwaite 50, Blackwood 8
I've given up trying to get into the heads of people who down vote some of our entries.
Go on. You know you want to...

Downvoting the laws of cricket is surely the first step towards anarchy.
