  2. Eng 3-0published at 4 overs

Permaul is targeting that rough but, as he did with his first delivery of the spell, bowls too short, allowing Lees to pull into the leg side for his first runs of the innings.

A leading edge from Crawley sends the ball squirting into the off side, before the opener plays a more confident looking sweep shot for a single.

Lees is then beaten again by the spinner.

  3. WI 1-0published at 3 overs

Beaten again. This time it's Crawley who plays and misses at a Kemar Roach delivery. Nervy start.

The shadows in Bridgetown start to creep further onto the field as another maiden goes by.

  4. Eng 1-0published at 2 overs

Lees gets himself in a tangle. A bit of hesitancy in coming forward, the ball twice whistles past his outside edge. Decent first over from Permaul.

  5. Eng 1-0published at 1.1 overs

Permaul drags it short and Crawley easily clips off the pads for England's first run.

  6. Postpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

Interesting. Veerasammy Permaul will bowl the second over. There are two slips and a short leg in place for the spinner.

  7. Eng 0-0published at 1 over

    Lead by 96 runs

Two short balls before a fuller delivery which Lees stamps his bat down on. The opener hasn't set the world alight in his very short Test career so far. He scored 30 in his first innings here, having been dismissed for two single figures on his Test debut.

  8. Eng 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Is this a sign of things to come? Lees plays an aggressive pull at his first delivery but the ball deflects off his midriff and trickles away.

Kraigg Brathwaite leads a West Indies huddle before the hosts gently jog onto the field.

Zak Crawley confidently marches to the middle, with his opening partner Alex Lees a couple of feet behind him.

Having spent most of the day yawning away, will we see an exciting end? Kemar Roach has the ball in hand.

England stuck to it again. It won't go down as a great bowling performance all round. It's a slow pitch, but we've seen enough beating of the bat, balls keeping low, and spin, to suggest that a stronger attack would have bowled the home side out for fewer runs.

It'll be interesting to see how West Indies bowl with their backs to the wall.

Alex Lees has to play his own game here, but be mindful of the match situation, and bat with more energy than he did in the first innings. But England's first priority has to be completely closing the door to a West Indies win.

We still have 17 overs left in the day, although bad light may come into play before then.

Crawley and Lees headed towards the pavilion again during the review, so I don't think there's much chance of England playing around with a more attacking batting order.

Da Silva lbw b Leach 33 (WI 411 all out)

Three reds! The ball would have clattered into leg stump. Jack Leach wraps up the West Indies innings.

The spinner bowls a probing line. Da Silva is forward, misjudges the spin and is struck on the pads.

West Indies trail England by 96 runs.

Jack Leach strikes in his 70th over. And guess what, Da Silva instantly reviews the lbw decision.

  16. WI 411-9published at 187 overs

    Da Silva 33, Seales 5

Mahmood bowls full. Seales chips towards mid-on but it lands safe.

This final West Indies wicket is starting to frustrate the tourists. Seales has now faced 24 balls.

Crawley and Lees had already headed back towards the pavilion to go and pad up during that review - they had to run back to their positions after the green came up on ball tracking.

  18. WI 410-9published at 186 overs

At first glance it looked out. I was convinced. England were convinced. The umpire was convinced. But it was actually missing by a fair bit.

  19. Not outpublished at 185.4 overs

Well, I'm wrong. It turned too much and is missing leg stump. Seales survives.

  20. West Indies reviewpublished at 185.4 overs

    WI 410 all out

All over. Jayden Seales trapped in front. England celebrate. West Indies review. It turned a fair bit but I think he's gone.
