Let's not even think about Grenada yet.

Jack Leach is brought on. Jayden Seales on strike. There's a slip, leg-slip and a short-leg in place.

I don't want to be the harbinger of doom, but a West Indian journalist has just shown me a video of the heavy roller going up and down the third-Test pitch in Grenada flattening it out...

  3. WI 410-9published at 185 overs

No yorkers. Seales works a single off the hips. England's lead is down to 97.

  4. WI 409-9published at 184.2 overs

    Trail by 98

Da Silva clips into the gap on the leg side. He wants two but Seales is not quite on his level.

Mahmood now has four deliveries against the number 11 to wrap up this innings. Bowl fast and at the stumps.

  5. WI 408-9published at 184 overs

    Trail by 99

Root sends in his floaty off-spinners, looking to tempt Da Silva into a wild swing. Having refused a couple of singles, Da Silva hands the strike to his partner.

Seales then surprises us all with a drive through third man for four. Good technique from the number 11.

  6. WI 403-9published at 183 overs

Huge appeal from Saqib Mahmood and Ben Foakes as Seales is struck on the back thigh. No reviews left for England but replays show it would have been umpire's call on impact.

    Maiden.

  7. WI 403-9published at 182 overs

    Trail by 104 runs

Joe Root backs himself as the man to take the final West Indies wicket. But it's the more established Da Silva on strike, and he is quite content in blocking out the over.

  8. WI 403-9published at 181 overs

Jayden Seales - the new man in - pokes away the final two deliveries. Just the start England wanted after the tea break.

    Permaul lbw b Mahmood 5 (WI 402-9)

No bat and hitting the top of middle stump. It was a skiddy delivery which kept a little low.

Veerasammy Permaul makes his way back to the dressing room.

Saqib Mahmood has his second wicket in Test cricket and England could be heading into the second innings with a three-figure lead.

    WI 403-9

Got 'im. Saqib Mahmood traps Permaul lbw, but the batter reviews almost instantly. If he hasn't hit this, it's plumb.

  11. WI 402-8published at 180 overs

There's a very tame shout for lbw as Root, bowling round the wicket, has one turning into Permaul. Too high.

Permaul and Da Silva exchange singles.

Roooooooot. The captain is bringing himself on.

  13. WI 400-8published at 179 overs

Saqib Mahmood appeals for an lbw. Da Silva is struck on the back pad but there's a clear inside edge. Remember, England have no reviews left anyway.

We have 28 overs left today. Plenty of time.

  14. WI 400-8published at 178.2 overs

Da Silva is on his toes and tentatively wafts at one which keeps low. The next delivery is on leg stump and Da Silva clips it down to the fine-leg boundary for four. The 400 is up for Windies. They trail by 107.

Joshua da Silva and Veerasammy Permaul stride to the middle. The latter seems to have recovered from that knock on the glove just before tea.

Saqib Mahmood to kick things off after the interval.

Matthew Fisher's brother Mark: "Barbados was my dad’s favourite place. He brought us here when we were very young. I’m chuffed to bits for my mum and for Matthew that it’s here.

"He loved the atmosphere of the place, the local people… it’s just paradise, isn’t it? That’s how he saw it.

"He played out here on tours – it whetted all our appetites to play cricket. Dad used to tell Matthew to go and run around the ground to burn up some energy as he was doing his head in!"

Matthew Fisher's brother Mark: "We all had a bit of an emotional moment thinking about dad – we hope he ran it through in his head in those moments when it wasn’t looking great.

"We get to live this experience – he doesn’t, but he’d be really proud of what’s happened. He did the hard yards, and helped put Matthew in a position where he could learn for himself.

"Matthew says when he’s playing cricket, that’s when he feels closest to Dad. His celebration a lot is to point to the sky."

Matthew Fisher's partner Tasha: "The night before the match, Matt got wind that Craig Overton wasn’t feeling great, so he was on standby.

"We got a message in the morning to say that he probably wasn’t in… then when we were in the queue to come into the ground, he texted us to say ‘I’m playing’ with a thumbs up emoji… that’s all we got!

"We rushed to get into the ground to see his cap presentation… it was only after that that it began to sink in!"

On yesterday's Test Match Special podcast, we heard from Matthew Fisher's partner Tasha and his brother Mark about the Yorkshire bowler, who is making his Test debut.

They talk about his upbringing, the influence of his late father, and the bet placed when he was a teenager that one day he’d go on to play cricket for England.

    Here are some highlights...

Cheers, Matt. Nothing gets past you.

I'm still reeling from the Jack Leach with hair picture. Just doesn't feel right, does it?

As for matters on the field, much better session for the tourists. Do we dare to dream?
