After a four-over spell Kemar Roach is taken out of the attack. I'm a bit surprised by that to be honest - I thought he'd get at least one more.

Jayden Seales is his replacement and he strays onto the pads of Ben Foakes - and is whipped to the square leg boundary. Every run could be crucial. England just need to find a way to get up to at least 200 and give their bowlers something to work with.

Joe Root would have opted to bowl first given the choice. He didn't win the toss today and now he has to look down at this scorecard. There's been some very good setups from the West Indies bowlers.

  4. Eng 63-6published at 35 overs

Ben Foakes has got two starts in this series, but hasn't gone on and made that big contribution yet. England - and Foakes - will be hoping that he's saved it for this Test. He works a couple down to fine leg to end the over.

England have gone 15 balls without losing a wicket. Rejoice.

6-30 is the collapse. So far..

  7. Eng 60-6published at 34 overs

Woakesy! Lovely shot. Kemar Roach goes a tad too full and Chris Woakes crunches a drive to the cover fence.

This pitch is tricky, but is by no means a horror. It's not like some of the beaches we saw in India just over a year ago.

I think both teams will be challenged by the re-calibration of coming off two flat surfaces. It's almost the polar opposite with lateral movement off this pitch.

England have one or two inexperienced bowlers in their XI. What they need to learn from the way the West Indies have bowled is to make the batter play as much as possible.

  10. Eng 55-6published at 33 overs

Chris Woakes is the new batter - he's got England out of a few tricky situations before. Think v Pakistan at Old Trafford in 2020. Can he do it again?

He gets off the mark first up, with a drive through point for a couple.

I said when this session started that it could go a long way to deciding the Test, and in turn the series, and it has definitely swung even further in West Indies' favour.

I saw Jonny Bairstow at breakfast this morning in our hotel. He told me he slept dreadfully.

Another one! England have lost three wickets without scoring!

It feels like those cold, dark December and January overnights have hit me again. Nothing has changed since I last covered an England Test.

Alzarri Joseph sent one in to Jonny Bairstow the previous ball, and this one slightly leaves him and he feathers through to Joshua da Silva.

    England are 53-6. Yes, 53-6.

Beautiful bowling from Kemar Roach. In the channel, around the wicket to the left-handed Alex Lees, probing in the way that Roach does. England are now in trouble.

  14. Eng 53-5published at 32 overs

Ben Foakes sees off his first ball.

England have two batters at the crease - Jonny Bairstow and Ben Foakes - who haven't scored a run yet. They've only faced one ball too.

    England, meet hole.

Wow, wow, wow. West Indies had already seen a huge appeal turned down for caught behind - it looked like correctly as Alex Lees seemed to hit the floor, rather than nick behind.

Kemar Roach goes a bit shorter as a result, and finds a little bit of extra bounce. There's also a little bit of movement back into Lees and a healthy edge is comfortably held by Joshua da Silva behind the stumps.

    England are in deep trouble.

Ben Stokes' wicket wasn't necessarily the way you'd expect to be dismissed on this wicket. Short ball, mistimed pull.

    England are in trouble.

Alzarri Joseph had strayed a bit short in this over, but it ends up bringing him the reward. This is a little bit quicker and Ben Stokes looks to flat bat it back down the ground, but he toe-ends it towards Joseph.

The quick has time to react and he ends up completing a relatively simple take - as simple as a caught and bowled opportunity can be anyway.

    England need a partnership.

We're here for five days, Daniel. We've got time - we don't need 100 runs in every session.

Daniel Cooper: 46 runs off 27 overs is poor, very poor. To lose three wickets compounds the fact that we are, at this time, not a leader in world cricket anymore. Change is happening but will take years.
