There's been lots of debate, well criticism if we're blunt, about the quality of the surfaces in the previous two Test matches which have been neither conducive to quick runs nor offered much to bowlers.

West Indies stalwart pace bowler Kemar Loach gave it both barrels during the last Test and told TMS that "the pitches in the Caribbean are a bit of a concern" and there’s was "no enjoyment for fast bowling anymore".

Grenada is know as the 'island of spice' so we can at least hold out some hope this proves an omen for whatever the groundperson has prepared for this Test.

There were some records broken in previous Test in Barbados.

West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite faced more deliveries in the match than any batter in their Test history.

Spinner Jack Leach, meanwhile, wheeled his way through 530 deliveries in the match - the most by any England bowler in a match this century.

Don't think I'm alone in hoping neither of those statistics are threatened in Grenada.

    Deadlock. Stalemate. Draw. Even-stevens.

Whatever way you want to describe the past two Tests during England's tour of West Indies we're still locked at 0-0 after blanks in Antigua and Barbados.

And so to Grenada, then, where both sides will be desperate to pinch a 1-0 series win and get their mitts on the Botham-Richards Trophy, which will be awarded for the very first time.

You can't imagine Beefy or Sir Viv would be happy with the things ending in another impasse.

Welcome to day one of our live text commentary of the third and final Test.
