    Ind 66-2published at 15.5 overs

    Rodrigues b Ecclestone 4

Third time lucky for England and Rodrigues hasn't survived this one.

She never looked comfortable, it was a scratchy innings of four from 21 balls and the pressure seemed to pile upon her.

She tries to cut a ball that was gun barrel straight and it's not a shot she will want to watch again.

Jemimah Rodrigues survives twice! Both for the lbw and for the catch.

  3. Not outpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 3 July 2021

Rodrigues survives, again! There's no bat, and the lbw is umpire's call.

She needs to make the most of these chances! England's players in a huddle in the middle all bring their hands to their heads in unison.

Or is it an lbw, maybe? Heather Knight went to Amy Jones to ask about the review, which made me think it was for the catch.

  5. Umpire reviewpublished at 15.4 overs

Jemimah Rodrigues pokes at one from Ecclestone, goes through to Amy Jones behind the stumps and there is some ferocious appealing but it's given not out.

    England review immediately.

Henry Moeran asked me and Alex Hartley whether now was the time for England to experiment with two one-dayers won. I said with five games to the Ashes and World Cup, no, not really.

But I did get a message from someone saying that this was the ideal time to bring into someone like Emily Arlott, who was released from the squad, or Issy Wong, who wasn't even in the squad, and blood a young bowler.

Rodrigues plays so correctly, and looks so good to watch on the eye with a high front elbow, but she just can't get the ball in the gaps at the moment.

  9. Ind 62-1published at 14 overs

    Mandhana 37, Rodrigues 3

Rodrigues doesn't look comfortable, scratching around, and England have stifled them since Verma's wicket.

Mandhana then times one beautifully past mid-off for four and Sophie Ecclestone doesn't look happy with Anya Shrubsole who is fielding there.

It has been more disciplined bowling from Kate Cross. She wasn't rewarded in the first game, but she was in the last game, and she's already got the big wicket here.

  11. Ind 55-1published at 13 overs

    Mandhana 31, Rodrigues 2

An eventful over is closed out by two singles. The India fans in the crowd are aggressively whacking some kind of metallic instruments and it is rather loud.

In the end it was a reasonably clear inside edge, but it also hit both pads so you can see why the umpire gave it out.

A good review from India as replays confirm that Rodrigues had hit it.

I do think there was a hint of an inside edge.

  15. Umpire reviewpublished at 12.2 overs

Kate Cross goes up for an lbw and it's given out on field against Jemimah Rodrigues, but she's taken it upstairs. Inside edge?

  16. Ind 53-1published at 12 overs

Rodrigues scampers a single to get off the mark.

Could Anya Shrubsole have made a bigger fist getting to that?

  18. Ind 52-1published at 11.1 overs

Smriti Mandhana comes down the pitch and lofts Ecclestone over mid on for four. It evades Anya Shrubsole who never really attempted to get there, but it was probably ambitious anyway.

Mandhana has done most of the damage for India so far.

  20. Ind 47-1published at 11 overs

    Mandhana 25, Rodrigues 0

Cross strays down the leg side for a wide and Amy Jones' fast hands come out to play yet again. She whips off the bails but Rodrigues' foot never left her crease.

That wide the only run to come from that over - India just settling themselves after the wicket of Verma.
