  1. Eng 36-1published at 13 overs

Dawid Malan gets off the mark with a well-ran two after a glance off his hip. He keeps the strike with a similar shot for a single.

Pat Cummins has bowled four overs in this spell, without success. We might see a change at that end soon.

Haseeb Hameed was the early England wicket to fall.

He had already had a life too, but he couldn't make the most of it.

That's a magnificent stroke from Crawley. He has been under pressure but he has also hit two or three really nice shots.

I like that from Crawley. He has been hit twice but he's seen the ball is short and he's played his shots. When you've been hit you can start to doubt yourself but he looks confident.

  6. Eng 33-1published at 12 overs

Oft! Shot! Mitchell Starc drops short and Zak Crawley pulverises a pull shot to the mid-wicket boundary.

There is a player in Zak Crawley. I'm a fan. He just needs a few scores to get his Test career going.

Starc showed him no sympathy - he tried to run him out!

Zak Crawley had already been hit in the box in this over.

It is literally all going on.

He's having a couple of tablets to ease any potential pain and swelling.

That's an awkward one. Crawley dropped the bat and he's wringing one of his hands. You don't see that very often.

  10. ouch!

    Eng 29-1published at 11.3 overs

Pretty much every ball is an event at the moment.

Mitchell Starc gets a little bit of extra bounce again, and it surprises Zak Crawley and it hits him flush on the top hand. He drops his bat as a result, but he seems OK I think.

The physio has come out to have a look.

It's good to have someone like Crawley who can score, otherwise you're just letting a bowling attack bowl at you.

  12. Eng 29-1published at 11 overs

Runs for England and Zak Crawley.

The Kent batter plays a lovely cover drive to the fence, before driving for three through mid on for three. That should probably have been another all-run four to be honest.

    He's up to 14.

  13. dropped catch

Crawley dropped on sevenpublished at 10.3 overs

It would have been a blinder from Marcus Harris.

Zak Crawley gets a little inside edge on a straight delivery from Pat Cummins and it ricochets off his body and flies towards Harris at short leg, but the Aussie can't quite hold it.

It was high to his right and it got a hand to it, but it didn't stick. It was one of those that either does or doesn't.

That is Hameed's fifth consecutive single-figure dismissal.

  15. Eng 22-1published at 10 overs

A bit wasteful from Mitchell Starc, after that brilliant first ball at Malan. He sprays a couple down the leg side and the other is wide enough for England's number three to leave alone.

Starc gets a pat on the back from Nathan Lyon and David Warner at the end of the over.

Starc has got his dander up. Malan is lucky that ball went down rather than to the short leg fielder.

  17. Eng 22-1published at 9.3 overs

    YEEESH!

Mitchell Starc's first delivery at Dawid Malan rises from a length and raps Dawid Malan on the glove.

It thankfully drops pretty quickly down to the ground, close to Malan's feet.

Hameed was trying to be positive. It was a scrambled seam and the ball cut back and completely through the gate. It is a classic left-armers dismissal.

It is not a good shot. Hameed has missed a full, straight ball. He has played around it. It is a folorn figure ripping off his gloves.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.2 overs

    Hameed b Starc 6 (Eng 22-1)

Haseeb Hameed can't make the most of his life.

This is not a good dismissal. There is a little bit of nip back from Mitchell Starc but there is a huge gap between bat and pad from Hameed and it goes through the gate and crashes into middle stump.

Not a good shot. Hameed - seven Tests back into his return to the side - is under serious pressure.
