The floodlights are on. It's a rather eerie sight.
Australia were far from their best in the five overs that we got last night.
Simon Mann called it "pretty bowling" and they were generally a bit wide and didn't properly challenge the defence of the England openers.
You would expect them to be much, much better today.
Zak Crawley was given a reprieve last night after being caught at slip off Mitchell Starc without scoring.
Starc had overstepped and Crawley got a second chance.
Can he make the most of it?
We're just under 15 minutes away from play resuming now.
England will be on 13-0 when we get going, with Haseeb Hameed and Zak Crawley both on two not out.
They are 403 runs behind and need to get to 217 to avoid the follow-on. That is the first aim.
I've just seen Travis Head out on the outfield, talking to his Australia team-mates.
The left-hander missed this Test after testing positive for Covid-19. He has now returned three negative results and has been allowed to return to the fold.
Ah, better days.

Mark E: England's next coach? Two words. Ricky Ponting. Couldn’t stand him when he was playing, turns out that was just because he was so good. He knows the game inside out. Get him signed before Aus do
Ok, we've lost 25 overs because of that morning rain. That means there are 73 overs in the day.
These are the playing times:
First session: 01:10-02:30 GMT
Lunch: 02:30-03:10
Second session: 03:10-05:10
Tea: 05:10-05:30
Third session: 05:30-07:00 (play can continue until 07:30).
David Warner in pink tights/leggings.
Enjoy!
Providing there is no further rain we will start in 35 minutes time.
We'll bring you session times and how many overs are remaining when we know.
The two umpires are now speaking to Joe Root and Pat Cummins.
Root just finished a conversation with the groundstaff too. The member of staff was pointing in one direction and then another as if to say "that is gone, it'll come from that direction".
I can see the two umpires outside having a look too.
I'll bring you any news on a possible restart or a further inspection as soon as I have it.

Robert: Makes sense to have separate coaches for the various formats - I’d go with Jason Gillespie for the test team (we need a bit of Aussie Grit) and someone like AB De Villiers for the T20/One Day team - an attack minded approach and someone who has just been in the game!
The players are starting to make their way out to start their warm-ups too.
Mitchell Starc is currently rocking back and forth on a foam roller and Alex Carey has his helmet on ready to do some catching.
We have movement at the SCG.
The groundstaff are back out on the outfield and are starting to think about the clear up process.

Ben: No to Langer. Wouldn’t mind Kirsten but the one outstanding candidate to coach England, and the only choice imo, is Mark Robinson. The ECB should give him whatever he wants to take the job
We're going to halt the regular updates for a while with there not being any imminent sign of play.
We'll bring you updates on the weather, inspections and play as and when we have any.
Test Match Special will continue at the top of the page and you can read back through this page for loads of reaction and analysis.
This series is all going wrong for England.
Graham Thorpe is giving a TV interview and England's media manager Danny Rueben is holding an umbrella over them both, but it blows inside out.
When your luck is out...
