    A maiden to start proceedings.

Stuart Broad started really wide, which Steve Smith was able to leave well alone. The England bowler, understandably, looks very stiff.

He hones in on the stumps in the latter part of the over, but Smith is equal to it.

The players are out on the field in Hobart and we're ready for day three.

Steve Smith will resume on on 17, with nightwatchman Scott Boland on three not out.

Stuart Broad will start with the ball for England.

WinViz currently has this at 80-20 in Australia's favour.

You'd think England would have to bowl Australia out in the first session and keep the chase to under or around the 200 mark to stand a real chance.

That leaves them with a lot to work to do...

There is absolutely no chance of the weather saving England today.

It is absolutely cracking flags in Hobart. It looks like a very pleasant day.

The robot camera is deliberately tracking Stuart Broad on the outfield at the moment.

It is keeping just enough distance to not annoy the England bowler at this stage.

Scott Boland has just called the days in a day-night Test and the waiting around until 15:00 in Hobart for play "really long".

You're not kidding, Scott. My sleeping pattern is in tatters.

If Australia had a good hour here the game is out of reach for England. This first session decides the game.

Australia are going to resume on 37-3 in their second innings, when play gets back under way at 03:30 GMT.

The hosts had a 115-run lead after the first innings, so their current advantage is 152 runs.

In theory they could bat all day and get that lead to 450-500. Will they last that long on a difficult-ish pitch? Will they fancy a go at England under the lights later? It will be interesting to see how today pans out.

    Morning!

Yes, today could be the final day of the 2021-22 Ashes.

Whether it is or not may depend on how bold Australia try to be. There are still three full days left in this Test match, so there is plenty of time left, but things have moved pretty quickly in this game so far.

England's Ashes tour started 40 days ago.

Today is the 20th day of cricket in that time.

The nightmare could all come to an end at some stage today.
