David Warner looked almost back to his best today.
He has been netting on concrete, rather than the slow low practice pitches, apparently. It looked like it helped today.

Need 15 from 24 balls
Another good over for Australia with 10 coming off it. They'll want this won.
Steve Smith has scored a run-a-ball 24 so far. He should probably be run out at the non-striker's end as he contemplates a single to short third, but the throw, albeit a good one, goes to the wrong end.
Need 20 from 27 balls
Shot.
A tad too short from Chamika Karunaratne and Marcus Stoinis flat bats between mid-off and cover to get up and running.
Marcus Stoinis is the new batter by the way.
He does like to take a few balls to get in but surely he can't chew up too many to put pressure on Australia here?

Looking to go up and over extra cover, he doesn't quite get it. It was a straightforward catch in the deep. Frustration for Warner because he probably felt he could have hit that anywhere he wanted.

Good catch!
Australia want this done in a hurry with net run-rate likely to play a part in this group. David Warner tries to drive, but probably goes a little bit too straight and Bhanuka Rajapaksa runs round and takes a good catch sliding on his news at long-off.
Australia cruising.

It has been smart cricket from Australia. Negate the threat, then attack your strengths, which is against pace. They have done it brilliantly.

Need 31 from 36 balls
Warner would have to score every run from here and be calculated off the final ball. He needs 36 to reach a century but Australia only need 31.
I'm going to file that under 'unlikely'.

Has Warner got time to get a hundred here...?
Need 33 from 38 balls
Short and four. Stop bowling short to David Warner. He's hit five pull shots to the boundary, that is ridiculous.
Four more! Not a bad delivery this time, but Warner crunches a drive away.
I can't quite believe how badly Sri Lanka have bowled here.

Warner's gap hitting has been exceptional. That is not a man out of form.
Need 43 from 42 balls
Sensible from Australia. They know Wanindu Hasaranga is the dangerman so they just milk him for four singles.
Hasaranga is done for the day. He finishes with figures of 2-22.

You feel Sri Lanka need a double-wicket over.
Need 47 from 48 balls
Another good over for Australia with eight runs coming off it. Too often they've been gifted a boundary in the over and this time it was from the first ball so they are put under zero pressure.
I didn't expect their required run-rate to drop below a run-a-ball until very late in the chase. They have been superb.

Fine knock. He's looking to finish this off.
Aus 105-2
Well played, David Warner.
The last few months have been really tough for him, particularly being dropped by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
This is his first half-century since April and it has been the perfect example of power and boundary hitting combined with picking the gap.
I set you a big challenge trying to work out how Kusal Perera dropped that catch.
Trying to work this out from Dushmantha Chameera is an even bigger ask.
Good luck. What a shambles.

A cardinal sin from a spinner.
Need 55 from 54 balls
Wanindu Hasaranga, stop that. He oversteps and that is a free hit for Australia. Nobody should do it, a spinner definitely shouldn't. An absolute pet hate.
Fortunately for Sri Lanka Steve Smith can only work the free hit for a single.
Australia are cruising this. This is the fastest a team has got to 100 in the tournament so far.
