Rizwan reviews straight away. Maybe that tells us there's an inside edge, but it looked pretty full and straight to me.

  2. Pakistan reviewpublished at 4.4 overs

JJ Smit has Mohammad Rizwan out lbw, but after a very brief chat with Babar Azam is sent upstairs.

You could put Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton in there, too. They're a team full of great names and personalities and they've captured a lot of attention.

What do you reckon is a better name? Trumpelmann or Pikky Ya France?

  6. Pak 13-0published at 4 overs

Offt. Play that. David Wiese finds a little bit of extra bounce and it beats Babar Azam as he looks to drive away on the back foot.

There's half a chance for a run out to end the over but Mohammad Rizwan gets home with the dive. Excellent to see that getting brought out.

  8. Pak 12-0published at 3.3 overs

A boundary! We've had to wait a while.

Babar Azam gets half a step down the pitch and David Wiese drags the ball a little short and the Pakistan captain whacks it through the covers.

    Great shot.

Pakistan will be pleased they haven't lost a wicket yet. They don't want to expose their middle order too early.

Trumpelmann is causing all sorts of problems.

  11. Pak 6-0published at 3 overs

This has been an excellent start from Namibia. They were distinctly average against Afghanistan in their last game but they have been bang on with the ball and in the field so far.

Just two singles from Ruben Trumpelmann's second over and he gets a generous round of applause from the Namibia support staff on the sidelines.

Rizwan has not looked himself so far.

  13. Pak 4-0published at 2 overs

Namibia went for the experience of David Wiese for the second over. He'll be a familiar name to a lot of you for his spells at Sussex.

It is a tidy start with just a single added to that three from Babar Azam. Scoring doesn't look that easy at the moment.

  14. Pak 3-0published at 1.2 overs

Pakistan and Babar Azam are up and running with a nudge through mid-wicket for three.

    Good running.

You will not see many better overs than that bowled in this tournament.

Perfect start for Namibia - a maiden.

There was a little bit of movement there for Ruben Trumpelmann.

He twice beat a driving Mohammad Rizwan on his outside edge. The Pakistan wicketkeeper was a bit stuck, mind. Moving your feet helps, Mohammad.

Pakistan may find themselves losing a toss and defending a score later in the tournament so this is a good opportunity to practice that.

It's always risky to go for 'practice' in the group stages, especially as we saw how the pitch played earlier, but you can understand the thinking.

Mohammad Rizwan will face the first ball and it will be the left-arm seam of Ruben Trumpelmann to start.

This is a real opportunity for Pakistan to bat for 20 overs, get their middle order some time in the middle. We've seen glimpses of them but only for short periods of time.

  20. Postpublished at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2021

The ground was sparse for the earlier game but a decent number of Pakistan fans are in now.

There is a good noise, as you would expect.
