England just need to calm down a little bit.
STOP RUNNING, Alex Lees!
Zak Crawley does get off the mark with the final ball of the over as he plays it fine down to third man for two
Trent Boult - who was playing in the IPL final on Sunday don't forget - will open at the other end.

What's wrong with him!?! Alex Lees you're not playing in the T20 Blast! It was fielded by third slip!
Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
That was interesting!
Whoah there!
It's all happening here as Zak Crawley edges towards the slips but it just falls short.
Meanwhile Alex Lees is setting off for a run again before being wisely sent back and just about scrambling back into his crease.
Everyone just needs to calm down.
Steady on, lads.
Alex Lees pushes Tim Southee's first delivery straight to mid-on and they just about scramble through for a single.

Here come England's openers Alex Lees and Zak Crawley.
New Zealand are already out there. Tim Southee will open the bowling.

Alex Lees can play. He has played a few Test matches now and he's back home in his own conditions and he'll know he'll need a couple of good scores in this series to solidify his place.
More importantly the partnership with Zak Crawley needs to look like a settled one.

Piemontemio: OK, so Lees and Crawley have no time or score pressures here. Just bat as long as you can, lads. 60 without loss at the close is fine - no need to smash it about and suddenly we're 40-3 and Southee and Boult scent blood...

A penny or two might have dropped with this England batting line-up. They have plenty to prove at the top of the order but then there is an engine room in the middle order.
New Zealand will bowl pretty well, they always do, but England will want to think about getting close to them by the end of the day with not many wickets on the board.
An encouraging update on Matthew Potts - we are hearing he went off the field with cramp in his left leg which, you would hope, is not too serious, especially now the New Zealand innings is over and he can put his feet up for a bit.
Potts finished with 4-13 from 9.2 overs. Impressive, very impressive.

It was very impressive from England. The catching was excellent and the bowling was very good. There was a little moment for New Zealand there and England didn't quite stick to their principles of bowling a good length.
Overall it was magnificent. The foundation was set by the opening burst. It is the perfect start for England.

That was a rather ambitious stroke from Trent Boult. They did add a handy 30 runs for the last wicket.
Boult c Pope b Stokes 14 (NZ 132 all out)
New Zealand are finally all out - but how important will those late runs be?
Trent Boult looks to clip Ben Stokes into the onside but Ollie Pope takes a smart catch at mid-wicket.

All that needed was an accurate throw in from the deep and it would have been a run out.
Trent Boult was right to go for two there, though.
Very nearly a horrendous mix-up as New Zealand hesitate over a second run. The throw has too much on it though and they survive.
There's a definite air of chaos and confusion around this match at the moment.

Adam: Ricky Ponting is sitting at home somewhere absolutely fuming at all these subs coming on.

That is a terrific shot from Trent Boult. He is fresh off the IPL and he's hammered that past Ben Stokes at extra cover.
