More runs for England - this has become a really good start now. Zak Crawley picks up three through the covers, via a deflection from Kane Williamson, before Alex Lees picks up a couple with a back-foot punch.
The cameras are focusing on Brendon McCullum in the England changing room. The New Zealander looks really relaxed at the moment. It won't always go as well as this, Brendon.

Colin de Grandhomme is keeping it pretty tight at the moment, conceding just a couple to Alex Lees through square leg, but he's not really threatening at the moment.
Time for Kyle Jamieson?

Very, very long queues for drinking water. Lots of people holding empty bottles and looking fed up. At £160 a ticket, you'd think Lord's could afford to install a few more taps.

More boundaries for Zak Crawley.
A beautifully-timed flick races to the square leg boundary, before another picturesque on-drive races away.
He's up to 36 off 48 balls. He is a beautiful timer of a cricket ball.

Colin de Grandhomme is my worst nightmare. He doesn't have any pace. He isn't going to give you balls to hit and if he does it is hard to hit because there is no pace.

Alex Lees' stance to Colin de Grandhomme is really quite interesting. He's persistently showing his leg stump and occasionally his middle too.
Just a no-ball from the over.
After a little bit of research (which I will not take any credit for) we reckon not.
Scott Borthwick was the last. His only Test was the fifth one in the 2013-14 Ashes in Sydney.

Was Bob Willis the last cricketer from Sunderland to play for England before Matt Potts?

That was pure - just a push down the ground. It was as perfect an on-drive as you could see from Zak Crawley.

Zak Crawley!
Boy, this guy is a talent. Brendon McCullum just has to consistently unlock it.
He plays a glorious drive through the covers for four, before a beautiful straight drive brings another boundary.
Lovely stuff.

That is a high-class stroke.

Shot! Lovely from Zak Crawley.
Colin de Grandhomme, who has replaced Trent Boult, strays onto leg stump and Crawley whips him through mid-wicket and away to the boundary. High class.
Oh wow! Alex Lees decides to take his mark and stand well outside off stump to De Grandhomme. He defends back towards the medium pacer, who gathers and throws towards the stumps and it runs away for four overthrows. What is it about New Zealand and overthrows at that end?
Lees would have been out if he'd hit mind.

Trent Boult and Tim Southee look like they have been playing a lot of T20 cricket and they have. Because they are so good it won't take them long to get back into the groove. It might just be that spell before tea that has got them into it.

Yeesh!
Zak Crawley is on the walk a little bit and he was a little grope as Tim Southee slides one past the opener's outside edge.
The Kent man works a single through mid-wicket before Alex Lees has a tentative prod too.
It'll be New Zealand skipper Tim Southee with the ball after the break.
Right, both sides are making their way back out to the middle.
There are still 42 overs left in the day. We're not getting through all them.
Close will be at 18:30 BST. England will be hoping to get pretty close to New Zealand's total before then. But there is no rush...
England have been forced into a concussion change during the 40 overs that New Zealand lasted too.
Jack Leach took a bang to the head as he tried to prevent a four. Lancashire's Matt Parkinson is hot-footing it to Lord's as we speak.
Leach is already a doubt for the second Test at Trent Bridge next Friday because of the protocols he has to go through.
New Zealand changed tack a little bit after lunch and went a bit more aggressive and to be fair it worked for them in part. It dragged them up to 132 all out, which is a total of sort, and it caused Ben Stokes, on his debut as the proper captain, to think.
He did scatter the field slightly, perhaps too early, but England got the job done.
New head coach Brendon McCullum cut a relaxed figure on the balcony throughout.
