He missed out at Lord's but not at Trent Bridge. Not an overly exuberant celebration - he points to the crowd, gets a hug from Daryl Mitchell and calmly raises his bat. There was no histrionics and leaping about. It was very understated but a moment of huge satisfaction.
NZ 397-4
There it is! A lovely moment for Tom Blundell having missed out at Lord's and this has been a masterclass in Test match batting from the pair.
He nudges the ball into the leg side and sets off for the single straight away, which he makes comfortably in the end.
An understated celebration, suggesting he's not done yet, but the New Zealand balcony erupts in joy for him.
Jack Leach has spent a lot of time in this Test with his head in his hands.
He finds the edge of Blundell's bat but it races past slip for four runs.
And he follows it up with a one-bounce four down the ground, trying to go to his ton with a six! What a shot that is.
He's on to 99 ...
Elsewhere in the Charlotte Edwards Cup semi-final, Grace Potts is having a much better day than her namesake.
South East Stars are reeling at 25-5, with Potts taking three wickets and a catch.
Here's Ben Stokes for the first time today.
And he's hammered over mid-on for four runs, more of a T20 shot from Mitchell, which is ominous if he's still got another gear or two to go up.
An iconic TMS moment here.

No Stokes yet. It's Jack Leach again for now.
A bit of a nervy moment as Blundell flashes at one outside the off stump and it just evades the edge.
A maiden.

Ben Stokes is getting loose. He hasn't bowled since before tea yesterday.
Tom Blundell moves into the 90s. He'll be desperate for a hundred after missing out at Lord's and I'm sure he'd like a few more shots like this to get him there.

I have seen this England side a lot over the past few years. When they go out field like this, they also go out and bat like this and it's a concern. Daryl Mitchell now has a licence to go out and play with freedom with a century in the bank.
This is just going from bad to worse for England.
Mitchell is on the charge, sweeping Leach for another four. There's a boundary coming from every over without them really trying.
Where are England going to get a wicket from?
Andy Zaltzman
BBC Test Match Special statistician
Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell's partnership is now the highest fifth-wicket stand for New Zealand against England, beating a partnership of 195 by the same pair at Lord's in the last Test. Mitchell also now has his highest Test score - eclipsing his 108 at Lord's.
Mitchell 117, Blundell 88
It can't be easy having to bowl the next over after dropping a catch from the previous one. And it won't be any easier for Potts having to watch Mitchell drive him down the ground for four more.
Not sure if any England fans want to watch Blundell smashing a four from a few overs back but it's a great shot nevertheless.
That's four drops now plus the missed opportunity that nobody went for yesterday.

If ever there was a bowler who needed that to be taken it was Jack Leach. It's just gone through the hands of Matthew Potts and hit his knee and rebounded for four. He's now going to have bowl at the other end.
Ohhhh.
Poor Jack Leach. Mitchell thumps the ball high in the air, Potts gets there from long-on, he's on the move but gets two hands to it and it just slips through. Bounces off his knee for four.
Jack Leach has his hands on his head, Daryl Mitchell grimaces and Potts is gutted. Wow.

After all of yesterday's food chat and with today being Saturday and club cricket day, we want to see your examples of Cricket Scran! Good or bad.
It can be past or present, from Trent Bridge, the Charlotte Edwards Cup finals day or from your club game.
We want pictures, that's the only rule!

Wonderful shot from Blundell. It was overpitched but he struck a sweet, crisp drive to the boundary.
