New Zealand are keen to see off the potential threat of the new ball and get into the day with these two. They don't want a repeat of the second innings at Lord's where these two were batting and then New Zealand lost six for 34.
Anderson drops a tad short and Mitchell is not missing out on that. He thumps it to the square leg boundary and moves on to 96.
If you need a bit more of a cricket fix today, it's finals' day of the Charlotte Edwards Cup at Northampton.
The likes of Amy Jones and Sophia Dunkley could be in action in the semi-final as Central Sparks take on South East Stars for a place in the final against Southern Vipers.

Mitchell clips a boundary off his hip to move to 90 and the umpires take a look at the ball for the first time. But based on yesterday it certainly won't be the last.
It fits perfectly through the circular measuring thing. It's not been plonked in any beer yet so I'm not entirely sure what England were hoping for.

Anderson goes up for an optimistic lbw on Blundell, but it was probably too high and going down leg. Other than that, great shout.

When Moeen Ali retired from Test cricket in September he said he found the format "really difficult to get into" and "really long".
"It has been bubbling for a bit of time," the 34-year-old said, adding he was "really content and happy with my decision".

He [Brendon McCullum] got the job and he messaged me the day after during the IPL and said are you in? He said he will call me on the weekend. So we spoke and he said look in future if we need you if there are injuries or a tour in the sub continent etc, are you keen to play?
He's a very difficult person to say no to that and I found that very, very hard. He's very convincing. To be honest, I'd love to play under him and Stokesy. Both of them have that character about them. They're very aggressive. I think I would suit their cricket a bit more and I think they feel I would suit them as well.

It's pretty breezy out there today so Broad's hair is still flowing buoyantly in the wind despite the headband, reminiscent of his younger days.
A no-ball gifts New Zealand the first run of the day to bring up the 150 partnership between this pair.
A reminder that Broad should probably have a wicket to his name by now. This miss between Crawley and Bairstow isn't pleasant viewing, particularly for Broad. The reaction says it all.

Anderson said this morning that he was 'baffled' the umpires didn't change the ball after it landed in the pint at 56 overs, which does seem pretty strange.
