More encouragement for Jack Leach, he is finding some turn and bounce as he looks for those footmarks outside Daryl Mitchell's leg stump.
Mitchell is looking calm and composed though as he moves to 90.

Broad just got this ball changed because it wasn't swinging. He didn't get it changed because it wasn't banged into the middle of the pitch, did he?
Not what we wanted to hear, Matthew. Can we at least get to lunch?
Meanwhile, it is never dull with Tim Southee. He slices a shot down to third man for two before attempting another massive heave that fizzes through to Ben Foakes.

A spot of rain has just landed on my cheek…
Lovely shot!
Tim Southee just casually pulls Stuart Broad around the corner for six.
Fantastic timing.

Is it Broad's fifth birthday? Because he's behaving like a child. Pull your head in son.

Broad will be lucky to keep 100% of his match fee here. Yes, the umpiring in this game has been a disgrace, but even so he can't be showing dissent. That behaviour belongs firmly on a football pitch.

That was just over Bairstow's head at long-on! He's about 10 yards inside the boundary. Southee was perilously close to holing out.
In the air.....but safe!!
Tim Southee charges Jack Leach and his shot just evades the hand of a flying Jonny Bairstow and long-on.
Good effort from the Yorkshireman.

Greg Double: "Always respect the umpire's decision." Or "Throw a hissy fit until you get what you want and then take a wicket a few balls later." Stuart Broad making life very difficult for youth cricket coaches here.
Tim Southee blocks his first delivery from Stuart Broad before ducking out of the way of a bouncer.
A warm applause for Broad, who must be in a much better mood than he was a few minutes ago.

A section of England fans are now singing Happy Birthday to Stuart Broad as Tim Southee walks out.

The replacement ball has done the trick! Broad picks up his 549th Test wicket.
Bracewell c Crawley b Broad 13 (NZ 265-7)
The change of ball pays off!
Stuart Broad's first delivery with the replacement cherry jags back in to Michael Bracewell.
The next delivery then tempts him into an edge through to a grateful Zak Crawley at second slip.

Broad is not happy. There's a little pantomime clapping of the hands to say "I told you so, Marais". But if it keeps going through the little circle then what is the umpire meant to do?
If at first you don't succeed....
England finally get their wish as Marais Erasmus finally agrees to their request to change the ball.
A visibly frustrated Stuart Broad sarcastically claps the umpire's decision.
Daryl Mitchell has been watchful so far this morning but changes tack here, dancing down the pitch before launching the ball back over Jack Leach's head for four.
