Curran c Markram b Shamsi 9 (Eng 79-6)
Ah. Sam Curran clears the front leg and holes out to Aiden Markram. Well it was short, but sweet.

Finally a big cheer from these fans in Southampton.
Now then! Sam Curran clears the boundary with a pull. Middled.

We've waited for 40 minutes or so for that. And even then if the fielder had picked up the ball earlier, they may have got there.

That is England's first four in a very long time - 54 deliveries.
Wehey! A boundary! The first one since the 6th over as Jonny Bairstow pulls to backward square leg.

Gazz Smith: England simply don't have that 'wow factor' with the bat in white ball cricket anymore, do they? Generally pretty poor.
This is uneasy viewing for England fans. The hosts can't find the boundaries. I couldn't even tell you when the last one was scored.

Sam Curran is off the mark with a single. At this stage, South Africa were 93-2. Sigh.

Liam Livingstone had to go after the spinner with 15 runs per over required. England are in a world of trouble now.
Livingstone c Maharaj b Shamsi 2 (Eng 65-5)
Another one bites the dust.
Shamsi tempts Liam Livingstone with a fuller and wide delivery. The England batter accepts the invite by dancing down the track and freeing his arms, but is deceived by the slower ball and holes out to long-off.

It's not quite a hopeless situation for England, but things need to change very quickly.
There is a chorus of boos as Bairstow and Livingstone opt not to convert a single into two.
Bairstow reverse sweeps Tabraiz Shamsi but, once again, finds the fielder. Livingstone dances down the track but his drive is stopped by the right hand of Shamsi.

Honestly, the Stubbs catch gets better with each replay. We will have it clipped up for you shortly.
Liam Livingstone - the new man in for England - is surprised by a Phehlukwayo delivery which jumps up sharply. Just four off the over.
With Jonny Bairstow and Livingstone out there, you can't write off England. But this is going to be a tough, tough ask.
They need 129 from 54 balls.

That is comfortably the catch of the summer.

That is one of the best catches I've seen in a while. I thought he had no chance.
Daniel Norcross
BBC Test Match Special
What a catch that is. He had to make about 10 yards and then had to leap to take it one-handed.
And he managed to shield it so it didn't bounce out when he landed.
