More from England bowler Stuart Broad, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are very comfortable chasing. Our mindset is we need to play in a way that gives us the best chance of taking 20 wickets and we think bowling first we get 20 wickets we win the game. If we bowl again tomorrow and put the South Africa batters under pressure we will be batting on a day three Oval pitch, which is arguably the best time to bat.

"We want a result in this game, we don't want a draw and so we play in a style that will create a result and after day one we are looking at a win or a loss, and in our mind it will be a win."

On drawing level with Glenn McGrath on 563 Test wickets: "He's a hero of mine. I feel like I don't really deserve to be in that category alongside him. He played a lot less games and is one of the best players of all time in my opinion. It would be very special to hopefully get one more and join my mate Jimmy [Anderson] in a 1-2 in that list of seamers, that would feel pretty good."
