  1. Ind 31-1published at 11 overs

Having given Vihari a freebie to start the set, Anderson is straight back on line. No more runs from the over, another delivery that beats the edge - that almost feels like a given at this point.

England could really do with another one finding the edge.

Bit of width from Anderson and Vihari has had enough. Only his third scoring shot from 23 balls.

  3. Ind 31-1published at 10.1 overs

Short and wide from Anderson and Vihari, having been tied down for a good while now, gleefully accepts the gift. Cut away forcefully through backward point.

  4. Ind 27-1published at 10 overs

Potts starts with a maiden. There is a little bit movement for the Durham seamer and the last delivery nips back to hit Pujara on the back thigh. Could be a painful one if he isn't wearing an inner thigh pad.

First bowling change of the innings and it is Matthew Potts, as you'd expect.

He had a bit of fun with the bat earlier. What can he do with the ball?

  6. Ind 27-1published at 9 overs

    Lead by 159

Stokes has a bit of fun with the crowd after an edge from Vihari reaches him on the bounce at gully, pretending to throw it up celebration and tricking a few.

Two from the over that sees Anderson go past the edge once more.

Floodlights on - which they have been for much of the day. Not sure if they're needed though.

    Andy Zaltzman

Pujara has got no hundreds in his last 28 games and he's averaged only 27 during that period.

  9. Ind 25-1published at 8 overs

More delays throughout the Broad over with fans moving behind the bowler's arm - the looks of exasperation on the faces of both players and umpire say it all. It has happened regularly this summer.

Maiden over from Broad, Pujara seeing off another six deliveries against this new ball.

It won't be too long before Matthew Potts is into the attack. The England man might feel he should still be batting, though.

After nailing a big six, he was given out caught at second slip. But did the ball carry?

  11. Ind 25-1published at 7 overs

The ball snakes past Vihari's outside edge again with Anderson just getting the ball to shape away from the right-hander.

A boundary ends the over, leg byes, as Anderson strays down leg and the ball flicks Vihari's pad on its way to the fence.

If you're a fast bowler and you're coming in on second change, you feel a little hard done because you know the first 15 overs sort of go to the opening bowlers and there isn't long before things go flat.

Jimmy Anderson will continue in his fourth over, looking to add to his one wicket already in the innings. Shubman Gill caught at second slip, third ball...

Pujara's leaving on length. That moved a long way, probably started at around fifth-stump line and ended up down the leg-side.

  15. Ind 19-1published at 5.4 overs

Hands on head all round from the England fielders after Pujara shoulders arms to Broad. The ball jags back and is not far away from off stump at all.

And again! Pujara is clearly very confident in where his off stump is.

  16. Ind 19-1published at 5 overs

Maiden over from Anderson as he probes away around Vihari's off stump. No alarms for the India number three in this over but no real intent to score. He's happy to get through that one.

Excellent fancy dress creativity from a chap I've just seen decked out in Australian green and gold. Wearing only one pad, 'Watto' on the back of his shirt.

    That is a lovely shot.

It was a bit short and wide but Pujara has made it look very short and very wide. Very classical.

  19. Ind 19-1published at 4 overs

    Vihari 1, Pujara 12

Lots of edges already in this innings, only one has gone to hand though.

A thick edge from Pujara as he cuts Broad is just short of Pope at gully and sneaks through to allow a single.

Vihari then prods forward and an inside edges runs down to fine leg for a single.

Top shot! Pujara nails a back-foot punch through point - there's no stopping that.

You can tell when Jimmy is really excited about an lbw because he leans really far back in his celebration.

He wasn't quite bending back enough there.
