More examples of great driving as Crawley punches one back past the bowler. Think he got his license renewed recently. OK, I'll stop with the driving puns.

England are motoring along nicely. The tarmac may look worn from the outside but apparently it's still great to drive on - like Crawley did on a couple of occasions in that over.

You mean apart from the match and the series...

England have nothing to lose here...
Crawley's ticking now as well. Back-to-back boundaries for the out-of-form opener. The first one is creamed through point and the second through mid-wicket. Jonny Bairstow appreciates it from the dressing room with an applause.

Target 378
Solid in defence and attack - is this the pinnacle of Bazball? I'd argue it is. Lees has played beautifully so far, a great balance of attack and defence. India's bowlers continue to look clueless.

That is the shot of the day!
Delightful!
As much as we didn't want to see Crawley driving too much outside off stump today, it is glorious to look at when it comes off - like it did here. That's four.

At Edgbaston watching my first ever Test match live. The belief is here at the stadium! Come on England!

India seem to be struggling to come up with a definite plan here. Such has been the impact of Alex Lees' rather uncharacteristic innings. I've read interesting theories about this one being an imposter, will have to wait and see if they have any merit...
Six runs from the Siraj over as he bowls a couple from over the wicket before switching to the other side.

It has been a scintillating innings.

That is the fourth-fastest half-century by an England opener in Test history.
Eng 74-0
A glorious punch through the covers brings up fifty for Alex Lees. A pleasant sight no doubt.
That's his second half-century in seven Tests.

If England do this, what are we going to say?
There is a long way to go. I'm going to wait for one more hour where the ball gets soft.
Thanks Sam, exciting times to be doing the live text. Good to be back on.
Eng 70-0
That was the last ball of the over and the players are going to take drinks. It's been an excellent start from the England openers but there is still a long way to go.
To see you through to tea, it is over to Anurag Hegde. Another fascinating passage of play awaits.
Eng 70-0
It takes a while but the right decision is reached in the end. The ball clearly bounced before it hit Crawley's boot and looped up to the fielder.
Looking at the replays, you can see why Crawley was a little frustrated by the soft signal.
Eng 70-0
India think they have got Crawley. The ball loops up to short leg after the England man attempts a reverse sweep.
The umpires send it upstairs and the soft signal is out. Crawley is not happy.
