    How will Root play here?

He was very un-Root in the first innings, trying to force it too much. He doesn't need to change anything in how he plays, he scores so naturally anyway.

This game of cricket is a leveller, isn't it?

Bumrah bowled beautifully before tea and he's just carried that on. Pope was really squared up, he was not in a good position.

A fiddly little nibbler outside the off stump. It was a nondescript sort of shot, Bumrah just hanging the ball in the channel.

    Tame!

The first ball after tea brings a wicket.

It's a quite simple delivery from Jasprit Bumrah, but it squares Ollie Pope up, and he has a little fiddle and gets a thin edge through to Rishabh Pant.

Bumrah stretches his arms out in celebration and Virat Kohli comes running towards Pope, screaming and roaring in celebration.

India are believing. We've got one hell of a game on our hands here.

Right, the players are back out after tea.

It'll be stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah first up with the ball... Ollie Pope on strike.

Phil Boson: It can't be just me that sees the disrespect from Indian players. Kohli's antics and Bumrah just running straight up to Crawley and smiling in his face. Numerous others. Celebrate with your team...

Zak Crawley gave us a reminder of his ability with a nicely-balanced 46.

He left and defended the ball better today, but was also proactive and looked to rotate the strike, rather than block or hit a boundary.

It was an error of judgement for the wicket, but it can happen. There were encouraging signs for Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes, who seem keen to stick by Crawley.

I'd just like to say well bowled, skipper too. He really was the enforcer after lunch.

Alex Lees has played beautifully so far. He's been a lot more attacking than we've become accustomed too, but a lot of the shots have been risk free.

He's going to have to regroup after the break, especially with the loss of Zak Crawley, just before it.

    Thanks Anurag.

Well, that was entertaining. At what stage do England become favourites I wonder? Not yet, but another decent partnership and they are in control you'd think.

Who do you think will win from here? Thumbs up for England, thumbs down for India.

That's it from me. Here's Callum Matthews to take you through the next session.

Yesterday we were thinking England would be chasing 420 or 450 and it would be really tricky, but this has just been fascinating.

What a gripping session that was. A wonderful, entertaining and exciting partnership for the most part before the Indian bowlers - much like the crowd, found their voice again to make things even.

Matt Barron: Safe to say that we can all blame Will in London (15:19) for that Crawley wicket. Thanks for nothing, Will.

Proper noise battle going on out there in the crowd. Supporters of both sides have suddenly found their voice in this final over before tea.

  18. Eng 107-1published at 22.1 overs

Will you look at that, classic Virat Kohli riling the crowd up and the India supporters have obliged and how! Very noisy out there at the moment.

Crawley will be kicking himself. He had, potentially, just that over and a bit through to get through before tea. India will have their tail up now.

A new batter at the crease and that brings Mohammed Shami back into the attack.
