That is an excellent shot, he was in exactly the right position. It was just a well-controlled shot.

Gorgeous shot from Crawley! It's his first drive of the day, although it is little more than a push. He waited for it and just eased the ball between the stumps at the non-striker's end and mid-on.

Daniel Cooper: Klaxon sounds out in the distance signalling that Zak Crawley has made double figures.

Mohammed Shami has a fine record in the second innings - he has taken 97 wickets at 23.5.
Since November 2019, this is the 11th second innings he's bowled in and he averages 44.
Lees 22, Crawley 12
Twice in the over Bumrah sends down full tosses - I can only assume they're attempted yorkers gone wrong - but on each occasion, they surprise the England openers. First Crawley and then Lees unable to fully take advantage, taking a single and a two from them, respectively.

It has been good to watch. These are very different conditions to the first time that England batted - it was overcast and they were delays then and that worked to the advantage of India.
The pitch still looks good and there really hasn't been much movement for the India seamers yet.

England's running has been superb in the early part of this innings.
Crawley looks to be showing far better judgement and much more restraint so far in this innings. A couple of times in the Shami over there are deliveries that he might previously have driven. For now, he's happy to let them go.
An attempted leave nearly gets him in trouble late in the over as he inadvertently guides the ball past gully. Good, positive running from Lees means they get three.

Adam Bennet: I’m still convinced there’s a 12-year-old with a games console controller in their hand playing as England.

It doesn't seem like Jasprit Bumrah has found the right rhythm yet. He doesn't look as sharp as he usually does.
Target: 378
Four more! Bumrah oversteps from what should have been the last ball of the over. That led to wickets in the first innings but this time it brings a boundary, on the pads and Crawley flicks it away square.
There is some excitement from the India fans in the crowd as Pant takes the ball one-handed as he dives down the legside. Lees had missed with a pull and the ball came off his body rather than the bat.
None of the India players were interested. Well, except Virat Kohli. Ever the optimist.

Former India wicketkeeper on BBC Test Match Special
I hope England's style does catch on. England will have to find success doing it.
This approach only makes Test cricket more interesting and it will get people interested and back into the stadiums.

Pete Bancroft: Whilst we are all wanting Zak Crawley to make a score and justify his place, he came into this Test with a better average than Alex Lees. For all the talk of his sound technique, Lees surely needs some runs too.
Lees 17, Crawley 2
Just one from Shami's over, Crawley getting an inside edge that trickles into the legside. He needed to get bat on it after moving across in front of his stumps.
Target: 378
Crawley is off the mark with a single before Lees tickles the ball fine for four as Bumrah strays legside.
A pair of firm punches through the covers each add two to Lees' and the England total. The India skipper has the last word, though, beating Lees with a snorter that straightens and bounces.

Things you hear in the change of innings. "This is new England. They will get them."
