  5. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Surrey 467 v Hampshire 71-4

Still we play on at the Oval. Hampshire have cut Surrey's lead to 396 now. It will be a while before the visitors will be looking at the scoreboard though.

Just see it out until tea lads.

  6. Tea at Bristolpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Gloucestershire 227 v Yorkshire 239-5

Yorkshire batsman Harry Brook's unbeaten 78 has carried them to a 12-run lead on an intriguing second day in Bristol.

Adam Lyth made 52 at the start of the innings, but they were 135-4 before Brook and Harry Duke put on 93 for the fifth wicket.

Graeme van Buuren has used eight bowlers so far and if they can pick up a couple of quick wickets after the interval, they will be hopeful of preventing the visitors from building a sizeable first-innings advantage.

  7. Tea at Canterburypublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Kent 51-0 v Lancashire 506

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

A session which Kent have dominated with the ball and then the bat.

Lancashire still with a strong first innings total but 506 all was probably 70 runs short of what they were planning at lunch. An assured start with the bat for Zak Crawley and Ben Compton.

Crawley hitting a couple of powerful straight drives, Compton looking composed on the back of a century last week. Matt Parkinson could hold the key for Lancashire.

  8. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Somerset 109 & 75-5 v Essex 180

    Matt RenshawImage source, Getty Images

Somerset avoid the prospect of an innings defeat as Matt Renshaw deflects a ball from Shane Snater for four to third man in the final over before tea.

The Australian is 36 not out from 80 balls, but Tom Abell (12) has been the only other home batsman to reach double figures as pace bowler Santer has taken 3-22 so far.

Craig Overton produced a career-best 7-57 earlier in the day to restrict Essex to a 71-run lead, but the home side may need him to produce something with the bat if they are set a testing target.

  9. Postpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Kent 50-0 v Lancashire 506

The 50 comes up for Kent. England's Zak Crawley (20 not out) and Ben Compton (27 not out) have both looked steady.

    Dawson b Overton 3 (Surrey 467 v Hampshire 52-4)

    Hampshire are falling apart!

Jamie Overton gets in on the action, bowling new batter Liam Dawson.

The visitors have collapsed from 48-1 to 52-4.

  11. Postpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Gloucestershire 227 v Yorkshire 230-5

A single by Dom Bess off Ajeet Dale and Yorkshire are in front at Bristol. It's taken them 75 overs to do it and the Gloucestershire attack are continuing to keep things tight with tea approaching.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Vince b Roach 1 (Surrey 467 v Hampshire 49-3)

No James Vince masterclass this time as he's bowled by West Indies paceman Kemar Roach.

Things aren't looking good for Hampshire right now. They trail by a mammoth 418.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Goldsworthy c Wheater b Snater 7 (Somerset 109 & 60-5 v Essex 180)

Are Somerset going to make is as far as day three?

It's a third wicket for Shane Snater as another excellent delivery squares up Lewis Goldsworthy and Adam Wheater dives across in front of first slip to take the catch two-handed.

Essex are hard to resist when they have the bit between their teeth and Somerset are still 11 in arrears with half of their wickets gone.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Duke c Bracey b Gohar 34 (Gloucs 227 v Yorkshire 226-5)

Yorkshire are just one run short of parity when Harry Duke tries to force spinner Zafar Gohar away off the back foot and feathers a good catch to wicketkeeper James Bracey.

His dismissal ends a stand of 93 with Harry Brook, who is 69 not out as Dom Bess comes out to join him.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Gubbins c Foakes b Overton 21 (Surrey 467 v Hampshire 48-2)

Perhaps inspired by brother Craig's seven-for for Somerset earlier in the day, Jamie Overton sends Nick Gubbins packing with a fine delivery which is grabbed left-handed by England wicketkeeper Ben Foakes.

Gubbins didn't do a lot wrong there, his defensive stroke was solid, but the ball was good enough to bring his innings to an end.

    Abell c Wheater b Steketee 12 (Somerset 109 & 50-4 v Essex 180)

Tom Abell and Mark SteketeeImage source, Getty Images

That's a cracking delivery by Mark Steketee which just nibbles away enough off the pitch to find the edge of Somerset skipper Tom Abell's bat and Adam Wheater takes an easy catch behind the stumps.

Lewis Goldsworthy joins Matt Renshaw - who is 23 not out - and the home side are still, in reality, -21 for four wickets.

for Harry Brookpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Gloucestershire 227 v Yorkshire 207-4

Easy as you like, Harry Brook tucks Matt Taylor away for a single and reaches an 84-ball half-century. Yorkshire will now be hoping he can convert this into a really big score - if he can, they will surely have a substantial first-innings advantage when he is finished.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Weatherley b Clark 5 (Surrey 467 v Hampshire 7-1)

Not the start Hampshire would have wanted at all.

Joe Weatherley is clean bowled by Jordan Clark. Not much the batter could have done about that one.

  19. Yorkshire earn batting pointpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Gloucestershire 227 v Yorkshire 203-4

Yorkshire collect their first batting point in Bristol as a wide delivery by left-armer Matt Taylor is squeezed away for four by Harry Duke through backward point. Duke is 33 not out and Harry Brook has 47 - their stand is now worth 68.

  20. Division Two round-uppublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

Glamorgan are just 105 runs behind Nottinghamshire's first-innings total, they're on 197-3 with Sam Northeast (66) and Kiran Carlson (22) batting nicely.

Durham have their first breakthrough against Leicestershire, as Sam Evans (16) is removed by Ben Raine to leave the Foxes on 45-1, trailing by 383 runs.

And Tom Haines is leading Sussex's fight back against Derbyshire. He's on 37 not out with Sussex on 54-0, behind by 451.
