Sam Northeast is just two runs short of a fifty for Glamorgan, who are now 142-2 against Nottinghamshire, with David Lloyd 66 not out at the other end.

WICKETpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Bailey c Cox b Hamidullah Qadri 0 (Kent v Lancashire 475-8)

Figures of 4-114 now for Hamidullah Qadri.

Tom Bailey goes high but can't beat long-on. Simple catch.

  4. Pressure on Somerset batsmenpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Somerset 109 v Essex 180

The players are now back out in the middle in Taunton following the extended morning session.

Somerset have not reached 200 in any of their three Championship innings so far this season. A repeat of that and there's a possibility this game could be done and dusted today.

Tom Lammonby and Ben Green are the home side's openers.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Overton lbw b Abbott 5 (Surrey 412-8 v Hampshire)

Kyle Abbot is doing a fabulous job cleaning up Surrey's tail.

Jamie Overton is the latest to go, pinned leg before by the pacer. Walking out next is West Indies legend Kemar Roach.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Malan b Dale 39 (Gloucs 227 v Yorkshire 135-4)

A big wicket for Ajeet Dale, who skids one through off the pitch to Dawid Malan and an inside edge sends the leg-stump flying.

Malan can hardly believe it and swishes the bat before trudging reluctantly back towards the dressing room.

Dale now has 2-20 from nine overs - impressive stuff from a bowler playing only his fourth first-class match.

Two Harrys together for Yorkshire now - Brook and Duke.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Wood c Stevens b Qadri 14 (Kent v Lancashire 471-7)

Two in two overs for Hamidullah Qadri.

This time the Kent bowler has Luke Wood on the ropes, playing the ball to stalwart Darren Stevens for his third wicket of the innings.

Lancashire's batters have seem to have accelerated. Plenty of attacking hots on display now.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Clark b Abbott 14 (Surrey 406-7 v Hampshire)

Another Division One wicket falls straight after lunch as Jordan Clark is bowled by Kyle Abbott.

You feel Hampshire need a monster session with the ball if they are to stay in this fixture.

  9. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Gloucestershire 227 v Yorkshire 135-3

We are back under way at Bristol and Harry Brook has crashed a Ryan Higgins no-ball through the covers for four runs.

A positive start to the afternoon for Yorkshire and Brook is now 14 not out, with partner Dawid Malan on 39.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Salt c Bell-Drummond b Qadri 97 (Kent v Lancashire 466-6)

Back to the action after lunch and there will be no 100 for Phil Salt today.

He falls three short playing Hamidullah Qadri straight to Daniel Bell-Drumond.

Still, a fantastic innings from the Lancashire batter. He struck 11 fours off his 117 balls.

Does Joe Root's resignation mean Yorkshire supporters will be seeing more of him this summer?

Unlikely - but here's what director of cricket Darren Gough has had to say on the subject.

  12. Taunton pitch 'still offering help'published at 13:30 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Somerset 109 v Essex 180

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset commentator

Big Craig Overton showed why he is one of the very best seamers in the country as he returned career best figures of 7-57 to bowl Somerset right back into contention.

After Sir Alastair Cook was caught at slip off the very first ball of the day, only Simon Harmer offered much resistance as Essex lost their last seven wickets for 71.

That number is also their lead, and a more than useful one, on a pitch still offering the quicker bowlers plenty of help.

  13. 'Damage limitation for Sussex'published at 13:28 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Derbyshire 437-6 v Sussex - lunch

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex commentator

Derbyshire have pressed home their advantage this morning, despite at one stage losing four wickets for 27, including a wonderful career best 239 from Shan Masood, who was eventually out caught behind, reverse sweeping James Coles

Earlier Wayne Madsen completed his century, as the third wicket added 292, a Derbyshire record for any wicket against Sussex.

The young Sussex attack have gamely stuck to their task, but with Robinson, Garton, Hudson-Prentice and Carson all missing, it’s been a case of damage limitation, on what still looks a very good batting surface

  15. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Gloucestershire 227 v Yorkshire 129-3

An evening morning at Bristol, with Gloucestershire making Yorkshire fight for their runs after a good opening day with the ball.

Adam Lyth made 52 after the early loss of George Hill and James Wharton - and following his dismissal by Ben Charlesworth, Dawid Malan 39 not out) and Harry Brook saw it safely through to the interval.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Steketee lbw Gregory 2 (Somerset 109 v Essex 180)

The morning session at Taunton is slightly extended with Essex's final-wicket pair together and Lewis Gregory ends the innings by trapping Australian Mark Steketee leg-before.

Simon Harmer is 25 not out with Essex 71 runs in front - which could be a very handy lead unless Somerset bat better than they did on day one.

England's Craig Overton is the star of the morning, collecting five wickets for career-best figures of 7-57.

  17. 'Solid morning' by Glamorganpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Nottinghamshire 302 v Glamorgan 130-2 - lunch

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

    David LloydImage source, Rex Features

A solid morning of accumulation by Glamorgan at Trent Bridge, with David Lloyd and Sam Northeast combining in an unbeaten third wicket partnership of 84.

The pre-match talk was of Marnus Labuschagne’s duel with Stuart Broad.

The England paceman isn’t involved in this contest but Brett Hutton is and the unsung seamer dismissed the Australian with the first ball he bowled at him, bringing it back as Labuschagne elected not to play a shot.

  18. Salt closing on debut centurypublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Lancashire 466-5 v Kent - lunch

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Phil Salt is looking to become the first player to score a century on his Lancashire debut since James Faulkner in 2015 and just the sixth player to do it since the turn of the century.

The former Sussex man is 96 not out at lunch, boosting the total after Steven Croft earlier fell for 155, just two runs short of a new first-class highest score.

It's been another excellent morning for the Red Rose who continue to build an impressive first innings total. It's also the first time they've scored maximum batting points since the opening game of last season.

  19. Durham innings comes to an endpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Durham 428 v Leicestershire - lunch

Durham's first innings is finally over at the Riverside as Chris Rushworth lobs a catch off Beuran Hendricks to Colin Ackermann at mid-off.

Ben Raine is left unbeaten on 51 against his former club, with Will Davis earlier removing Maty Potts to claim his 50th wicket for Leicestsrshire.

The centuries by Sean Dickson and David Bedingham have shown there are plenty of runs on offer, but what can Leicestershire's batsmen make of the situation after lunch?

  20. Lunch at the Ovalpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 15 April 2022

    Surrey 400-6 v Hampshire

Fans of round numbers will be pleased to hear that Surrey head in to lunch on 400.

Will Jacks (23 not out) and Jordan Clark (13 not out) are starting to build something after Ollie Pop (127) and Ben Foakes (45) both fell in the morning session.

    Surrey still on top.
