Surrey 334-3 v Hampshire
Ollie Pope (117 not out) continues to build while Ben Foakes (44 not out) trundles towards a half-century.
Things are looking good for Surrey.
England's Craig Overton takes 7-57 for Somerset against Essex
But Shane Snater claims 6-36 as Somerset are bowled out for 154
Ollie Pope makes 127 as Surrey total 467 against Hampshire
Harry Brook hits 101 as Yorkshire build lead against Gloucestershire
Lancashire pile up 506 against Kent with Phil Salt out for 97 on debut
Shan Masood out for 239 for Derbyshire against Sussex in Div Two
Glamorgan tail-enders frustrate Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge

Successor: Billings. Foakes not the revelation we expected in WI and Sam would bring real energy to the side.
John from Sheffield
How come nobody ever mentions Jonny Bairstow? Unlike Stokes he won't be tempted to over-bowl himself. Unlike Buttler and Broad, he's already in the team.
David in Kent
Marnus Labuschagne lbw b Hutton 3 (Nottinghamshire 302 v Glamorgan 46-2)
Back to Nottingham and Marnus Labuschagne hasn't lasted long at all, pinned leg before by Brett Hutton for three.
Glamorgan are in big trouble, while the Australian batter's dip in form continues.
S Cook b Overton 3 (Somerset 109 v Essex 113-4)
Both Essex Cooks go early as nightwatchman Sam follows Sir Alastair back to the pavilion.
It's a 'significant error of judgement' by the Essex nightwatchman as he shoulders arms to a ball from England's Craig Overton which angles in and hits off stump.
Dan Lawrence is joined by Matt Critchley. Somerset fighting back strongly.
Bedingham c & b Hendricks 191 (Durham 364-7 v Leicestershire)
Noooooo!
I hadn't even had time to tell you that Durham's David Bedingham was closing in on a double ton. He falls nine short, caught and bowled by Beuran Hendricks.
Some knock though, he's put his side in firm control.
We mentioned Peter Siddle's new look (see 11:01 entry).
Perhaps dismissing Alastair Cook is proof that blonds do have more fun.
Nottinghamshire 302 v Glamorgan 40-1
There's been an early wicket in division Two at Trent Bridge as Glamorgan's Andrew Salter falls for 16.
That wicket brings Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne to the crease.

See pressure of recall already got to the Chef.

Sam Billings should be England captain. He is superb for Kent as a captain and is a brilliant keeper batsman.
Archie in Dorset
Hill c Bracey b Dale 3 (Gloucs 227 v Yorkshire 41-1)
An early breakthrough for Gloucestershire at Bristol as paceman Ajeet Singh Dale removes George Hill in his opening over.
Perhaps a little more bounce than the Yorkshire opener was expecting and it's a fairly comfortable catch for keeper James Bracey in front of his face.
Kent v Lancashire 352-4
Steven Croft batted beautifully for Lancashire yesterday and he continues his form this morning moving to 116 not out.
Kent need quick wickets this session. This game is already slipping away from them.

Mark Burt: Root’s a truly great batsman but has always been a very average captain. 27 wins to 26 losses says it all. His leadership won’t be missed but who ever takes over has mountain to climb. English Test cricket is totally shambles.
Fran Adam: Had to go as captain. His toss win rate is really high so that should have aided him but you can’t have a poor record like him and expect to keep going. I’m sure he will score lots of runs for England in the future.
Surrey 332-3 v Hampshire
A solid start for Ollie Pope on 113 not out overnight. He blocks out a maiden.
Would he be an outside shot for the England captaincy? Stranger things have happened...
A Cook c Hildreth b Siddle 59 (Somerset 109 v Essex 109-3)
First ball of the morning at Taunton and Joe Root's predecessor as England Test captain is gone.
Sir Alastair Cook has seen a lot of Peter Siddle over the years - but perhaps he was startled by the Australian's change of hair colour.
He spars at a relatively unthreatening ball outside off stump and edges to first slip, where James Hildreth picks up a good low catch.
Where will the first wicket fall?
We will be keeping you fully apprised of events at the seven grounds - but also continuing to provide the latest reaction to Joe Root's resignation as England Test skipper.

He's in great form for Essex, I say we bring back the Chef and solve two problems with one Knight of the Realm.
Dan
Surrey 332-3 v Hampshire (play starts 11:00)
Surrey batsman Hashim Amla hailed team-mate Ollie Pope as "a great talent for England" following his unbeaten 113 on day one against Hampshire at the Kia Oval.
Amla knows a thing or three about batting, having played 215 Tests for South Africa and scored 55 first-class centuries.
Pope missed out on Test selection on the recent tour to the West Indies, after making only 54 runs in three appearances in the winter Ashes series, but has begun the county summer in excellent nick.
"He's a fantastic player and he scores very quickly and puts the pressure on bowlers. Hopefully these runs will follow him into the international scene," Amla told BBC Radio London.
Bank holiday it may be, but our BBC commentary teams are in place as usual at the seven grounds to bring you ball-by-ball coverage of today's action. Tune in to the match of your choice by using the promos at the top of the page and we will keep you up top date with events elsewhere with regular text updates.

James Vince would be a good shout. Excellent tactically as Hampshire captain and possesses the batting pedigree to succeed at Test level.
Mike from Cornwall
County Championship (play resumes 11:00)
Somerset apart, it was, by and large, a good day for batting on day one of our seven County Championship games.
Eight centuries were made - topped by Shan Masood's unbeaten 201 off 271 balls for Derbyshire against Sussex - and bowlers could be in for another tough one today.
Joe Root resignation reaction
