  1. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Gloucs 215-0 v Surrey 603

Not a morning to be a bowler - and Surrey have had no success so far as the home side continue to pile up the runs.

Chris Dent has his first hundred of the season and goes to lunch on 108 not out, with Marcus Harris for company on 78 not out.

Still a long way for Gloucestershire to go, however, as they trail by 388.

  2. 'Will Northants enforce follow-on?'published at 13:06 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Essex 193 v Northants 390

    Dick Davies
    BBC Essex

Shane Snater, probably Essex's most improved player so far this season, continued to impress, this time with bat in hand, as he mounted an authoritative riposte to the visitors' dominance.

He added 69 belligerent runs with Mark Steketee for the ninth wicket and then a further 41 with Sam Cook to post a final total of 193 of which Snater was undefeated on 79 - but will the follow-on be enforced?

  3. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Hampshire 246 & 182-4 v Lancs 240

Solid progress by Hampshire, who have stretched their overall lead to 188 for the loss of Liam Dawson this morning.

Nick Gubbins - eyeing his second century of the match - has moved on to 75, with Ben Brown at the other end on 38 not out.

  4. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Somerset 458 v Warwickshire 209 & 45-3 f/o

Sam Hain and Will Rhodes see Warwickshire through to lunch, but it's been Somerset's session.

The Bears still need another 204 to avoid an innings defeat.

    S Cook c Vasconcelos b Keogh 10 (Essex 193 v Northants 390)

There's to be no bonus point for Essex as Keogh wraps up the innings on the stroke of lunch, having Sam Cook caught at slip.

Shane Snater finishes on a career-best 79 not out from 94 balls - a valiant effort and the teams will take lunch now while Northants chew over whether to put their opponents back in or not.

  6. wicket

    Brook c Robinson b Gilchrist 194 (Yorkshire 465-6 v Kent 291)

Harry Brook misses out on his double century as a fantastic innings comes to a close.

The Yorkshire batter glances a short ball from Nathan Gilchrist down the leg side and is caught behind for 194.

265 balls with 21 fours and two sixes.

    Essex 192-9 v Northants 390

All of a sudden, Essex are beginning to sniff the possibility of a batting bonus point at Chelmsford.

That looked highly unlikely when they resumed at 95-8 this morning, but Shane Snater's innings has transformed the home side's fortunes.

He's moved on to a career-best 77 not out, clobbering Rob Keogh for a straight six just now, with Sam Cook keeping him company.

Lunch approaching. It's the 10 minutes where you don't want a wicket to fall if you're the batting side...

for Barnardpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Notts 266 v Worcs 159 & 304-7

And another batter goes past 150 in Division Two.

Worcestershire's Ed Barnard is setting up a victory chance for his side at Trent Bridge.

It's an incredible recovery from 32-4 when he came to the crease.

    The Pears lead by 197.

  12. 100 runs

for Chris Dentpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Gloucs 192-0 v Surrey 603

Just what Gloucestershire needed from their former captain, who advances to his first century of the season!

Dent made 50 in both of their opening Championship games, but he's gone one better this time, carving Will Jacks for four to reach his ton from 162 balls.

Marcus Harris, on 65 not out, has shared this opening stand as the home side chip away at that hefty Surrey total of 603.

    Sussex 434-5 v Durham 223

What a season Cheteshwar Pujara is having.

The India batter goes past 150 to go with scores of 109 and 201 not out in the other two County Championship games.

He's approaching 500 runs for the campaign in just his fifth innings.

for Besspublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Yorkshire 415-5 v Kent 291

Dom Bess goes to fifty at Headingley.

Easy to forget that Yorkshire were 23-3 straight after lunch yesterday.

They now lead by 124 with plenty more to come.

    Yates c Lammonby b Brooks 1 (Somerset 458 v Warwickshire 209 & 21-3 f/o)

    Three down!

After making just one from 32 balls, Rob Yates tries to pull Jack Brooks but gets a top edge and the ball flies to Tom Lammonby at mid-on.

Warwickshire's batting nightmare continues at Taunton.

    Steketee b Berg 18 (Essex 152-9 v Northants 390)

You can always rely on Gareth Berg to make a contribution! The veteran seamer makes a very welcome breakthrough for Northants as Mark Steketee's off stump goes flying.

One more for Northants and then it'll be time for Ricardo Vasconcelos to make a decision on whether or not to enforce the follow-on...

  18. 50 runs

for Marcus Harrispublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Gloucs 151-0 v Surrey 603

Both Gloucestershire's openers have now passed 50, with Marcus Harris getting there off 114 balls to follow Chris Dent.

Plenty more runs to be had, as Surrey showed when they had first use of the Bristol track.

  19. 50 runs

for Shane Snaterpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Essex 152-8 v Northants 390

This is turning into a valuable stand for Essex now, with Snater and Mark Steketee adding 69 so far for the ninth wicket.

Snater's pugnacious approach has brought him only his second first-class 50 - and he strikes Tom Taylor for successive boundaries to get there from just 66 balls.

Northamptonshire's bowlers must surely have anticipated wrapping up the innings early.... but they're getting no joy at the moment.

  20. 100 runs

for Labuschagnepublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Derbyshire 368 v Glamorgan 311-4

    Century for Marnus Labuschagne!

The Australia Test batsmen has had a mixed start to the season but class is permanent.

Glamorgan are set for a healthy first-innings lead in the East Midlands.
