    Sussex's two overseas batters are continuing to enjoy themselves at Hove. Cheteshwar Pujara (144*) and Mohammad Rizwan (41*) have taken the hosts to 414-5 and they lead Durham by almost 200.

    Worcestershire all-rounder Ed Barnard continues to show plenty of bottle at Notts. He's 125 not out with the Pears on 267-7 and leading by 160.

    Leicestershire are in trouble on 78-4 against Middlesex at Lord's. They still need 143 to avoid an innings defeat.

    And Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne is approaching a ton for Glamorgan at Derbyshire. He's 94 not out with Glamorgan going nicely on 304-4.

    Andy Stone: The ECB rightly gets a lot of flak for scheduling, but at least games aren't happening on random days like a few years ago. Keeping track of a whole round of games is much more rewarding for the casual scroller.

    He drills Hassan Ali through the covers for four to get there, with Ben Brown now at the other end following Dawson's dismissal.

    Well, yesterday was a pretty grim one for Essex supporters - but their ninth-wicket pair have started a fightback of sorts this morning!

    Shane Snater has struck a couple of fours to move on to 22 not out, with Mark Steketee alongside him on 10 not out and the stand is now worth 32.

    Northamptonshire's Ben Sanderson is eyeing a five-for, but so far he and Luke Procter haven't been able to make further inroads.

    Stuart Broad has picked up an early wicket for Notts with Worcestershire wicketkeeper Ben Cox edging the England paceman behind. The Pears are 242-6, leading by 135, and Broad has 3-60.

    At Lord's Leicestershire have lost a fourth wicket are are facing an innings defeat against Middlesex. They're 53-4, still trailing by 168.

    Half-century for Gloucestershire opener Chris Dent, who gets there with a boundary off Reece Topley and brings up the 100 partnership with Marcus Harris at the same time.

    Which all looks very positive for the home side - until you remember Surrey are still in front by exactly 500.
