  1. That's all folkspublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

Now then. It's time to try and get our collective breath back and go and get the kettle on after that pulsating finish at Derby.

Another round of County Championship cricket is over, disappointingly so in most cases today, because of the weather.

But there was still plenty to keep people entertained - and we now have just four days to wait before we resume again on Thursday, with seven games at Chelmsford, Southampton, Manchester, The Oval. Sophia Gardens, Hove and New Road.

    Until then, good night folks.

The pure joy of County Championship cricket. Win, lose or draw, it's why people still love the game.

Jordan Richards: Why are they not starting and finishing earlier at this time of year? 11AM? Ridiculous. Start at 1000-1030 and finish earlier. How many more times must this be brought up before someone actually does something about it?

    Yorkshire (571) v Kent (291 & 393)

With the light not improving, Yorkshire will be unable to get their chase of 114 under way.

The match is drawn at Headingley. Hugely frustrating for home fans, but those are the rules.

Austin Mackie: Ok rules are rules, but should umpires be discouraged from taking an early reading on day1 that subsequently ruins a game

Chris Painter: How many more exciting finishes need to be ruined before the powers that be sort out this light business. So what if the floods are dominant? If the light's good enough to play with the same ball, play on, regardless of the source of that light

  17. Bad light at Headingleypublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Yorkshire 0-0 (target 114) v Kent

No change in the situation at Headingley where the umpires deemed the light too poor for Yorkshire to start their chase of 114.

A lot of unhappy punters out there...

Mr B: How has cricket not found a solution to this? I’m sure there are numerous club cricket games going on around the country right now. Yet the elite can’t play with floodlights.
