  1. Not too sunny in Southamptonpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

    Hampshire 246 & 344, Lancashire 240 & 9-0

No play so far in the Hampshire-Lancashire game in Southampton.

No immediate prospects either, but the weather forecast does not look too clever.

A shame as the game looked very interestingly poised, with the visitors having been set 351 to win.

    Leaning c Duke b Patterson 36 (Yorkshire 571 v Kent 291 & 126-3)

Yorkshire get the early wicket they needed!

Jack Leaning attempts to leave a ball outside off stump from former team-mate Steven Patterson but gets an under-edge through to the keeper.

Kent still need another 154 runs to avoid an innings defeat, but bowling conditions are ripe this morning.

    Northants 390 v Essex 193 & 154-3

They're off and running for the day at Chelmsford as an edged four through the slips in the second over for Paul Walter brings up the Essex 150 - and reopens the perennial debate about any cricket team taking the field with no third man.

Walter moves on to 44, while Matt Critchley then takes a single to move on to 45.

    Sussex 538 v Durham 223 & 169-0

At Hove, Durham pair Sean Dickson and Alex Lees resume having put on a mammoth opening stand of 169 yesterday evening.

Dickson already has his century and England batter Lees is on exactly 50.

    Yorkshire 571 v Kent 291 & 119-2

Ben Compton (67*) and Jack Leaning (32*) get things going for Kent at an overcast Headingley.

They're still 161 in arrears, so a bit effort needed this morning.

Play at four matches getting under way then.

Delays at Bristol and the Ageas Bowl. Prospects do look bleak down there I have to say.

    Let's go...

  10. Postpublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 1 May 2022

So, looks like we've got delayed starts in Bristol and at the Ageas Bowl. Hove might be next in line.

But further north it appears to be a bit drier so hopefully we'll get some good chunks of play in at Chelmsford, Headingley and Derby.

    Morning!

Six games remain after victories for Somerset, Middlesex and Notts on Saturday, but there's a bit of weather around so we'll have some delays.
