    Sussex 599-9 v Leics 700-4

Scoreboard at HoveImage source, Rex Features

Wiaan Mulder cuts Delray Rawlins away for one to reach 200 off 258 balls.

A tickle round the corner two balls later and the Leicestershire total reaches 700.

These Sussex bowlers must be wishing the groundstaff would dig up the pitch and drop it piece by piece into the sea.

From Sam: "#bbccricket, external Has a side that lost a wicket from the first ball of the innings ever made 700 before? Seems unlikely…"

    Anyone know the answer?

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Luxton lbw Hardie 14 (Yorks 521 & 123-6 v Surrey 515)

No doubt about that one either as Aaron Hardie strikes Will Luxton on the rear pad.

Only four wickets left now for Yorkshire and the lead is only 129.

  3. Postpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Hants 76-2 - target 91

James Vince and Nick Gubbins must have somewhere else to be.

Three fours in one over for Vince off Dan Mousley and Gubbins finds the boundary twice in three balls in the next by Danny Briggs.

    Only 15 more required.

  4. 250 runs

for Colin Ackermannpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Sussex 599-9 v Leics 691-4

A single off James Coles and Colin Ackermann reaches 250 off 356 balls. Leicestershire's highest ever total is 701-4 declared against Worcestershire in 1906. It won't be a record much longer.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Organ c Garrett b Briggs (Hants 56-2 - target 91)

Felix Organ sweeps and is caught at square leg.

He made 41 off 36 balls but that is a disappointing dismissal.

Hampshire need 36 to win as skipper James Vince walks out and he is soon under way with a single.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Wharton lbw Lawes 23 (Yorks 521 & 111-5 v Surrey 515)

James Wharton didn't seem thrilled with that decision - but we can't really see why, it looked pretty straight.

Youngster Tom Lawes claims Surrey's third wicket of the morning and it looks like the Division One leaders are really fancying this now.

  7. Northamptonshire set Kent 365 to winpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Kent 335 v Northants 303 & 396-8

Question answered! Northamptonshire declare at the end of the next over, with Luke Procter finishing 48 not out.

Kent will begin their quest to score 365 shortly. They have 74 overs available to do it!

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Holland lbw Garrett 10 (Hants 51-1 - target 91)

Hampshire pass 50 with a couple more Felix Organ boundaries off Danny Briggs - but Ian Holland departs in the next as he pays the price for playing across the line.

Well bowled, George Garrett - but barring a miracle, Hampshire are well on the way to victory here.

  9. 400 partnership for Leicestershirepublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Sussex 488-9 v Leics 681-4

Colin Ackermann pulls a short ball from Henry Crocombe for four.

Later in the over, Wiaan Mulder square cuts a slower delivery to the boundary and brings up a 400 stand with his captain.

The Leicestershire record for any wicket is 436 by Darren Maddy and Brad Hodge against the Loughborough students in 2003.

    The lead is 96.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Kerrigan c Bell-Drummond b Linde 22 (Kent 335 v Northants 303 & 389-8)

Well, that was an entertaining cameo from Simon Kerrigan, who smashed 22 from just 10 balls - including a switch-hit for six off Jack Leaning.

Kerrigan holes out, with George Linde picking up his third wicket. It's just a question now of whether Northamptonshire are bowled out or declare...

Hampshire continue their victory stroll at the Ageas Bowl with another audacious Felix Organ reverse sweep for four off Danny Briggs. It was aerial but he managed to find a gap.

A single keeps Organ on strike and just 55 more are needed by the home side with all 10 wickets in hand.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Bartlett lbw b Morley 4 (Lancs 624-9 dec v Somerset 446 & 44-3)

Jack Morley really has been the star of the morning at Southport - he's got three Somerset wickets now.

George Bartlett is the latest batter to depart, trapped leg before as he tried to work the ball on the leg side.

First-innings centurion Lewis Goldsworthy is out there now and Somerset might need something special from him again.

  14. Postpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Yorks 521 & 100-0 v Surrey 515

Surrey's line has gone awry for the moment.

Two successive leg-stump deliveries by Dan Worrall cost him boundaries to James Wharton.

Then Jamie Overton falls into the same trap in the next over and Will Luxton clips him through mid-wicket for four.

Yorkshire reach three figures and are 106 ahead.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Rickelton st Billings b Linde 133 (Kent 335 v Northants 303 & 359-7)

That wicket certainly gives weight to the idea that Northamptonshire are looking to set Kent a target here - Ryan Rickelton charging down the track to George Linde and missing as Sam Billings takes off the bails.

A magnificent knock by Rickelton, whose 133 included 13 fours and a six. He and Luke Procter added 72 in just over an hour and the visitors are 327 ahead.

  16. wicket

Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Kent 335 v Northants 303 & 352-6

Could Northamptonshire be starting to think about a declaration?

Ryan Rickelton and Luke Procter have begun to accelerate against the Kent spinners and they've now extended the visitors' advantage to 320.

Still 80 overs remaining in the match.

    Glamorgan 318 & 421-5 dec v Notts 285 & 59-2

Still only one wicket for Glamorgan this morning.

Joe Clarke edges past second slip - never a chance - off Michael Neser and collects four runs.

Neser then overpitches and Clarke puts it away to move to 24 not out, with Ben Slater on 31.

WICKETpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Davies c Jones b Morley 11 (Lancs 624-9 dec v Somerset 446 & 32-2)

Jack Morley strikes again and both Somerset openers are now back in the hutch!

This time Steve Davies tries to flick the spinner away on the leg side and Rob Jones takes a smart tumbling catch at leg slip.

George Bartlett at the wicket now with Tom Lammonby, but Somerset still need another 146 to reach parity.

  19. Postpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Hants 25-0 - target 91

Spinner Danny Briggs has opened the bowling for Warwickshire, together with Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

The left-armer finds plenty of turn at the start of his second over but Felix Organ's edge beats first slip and trundles down to the rope at third man.

Two balls later, Briggs overpitches and Organ is able to sweep for four before producing a reverse sweep for another. He is 22 not out.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Fraine lbw Worrall 1 (Yorks 521 & 80-4 v Surrey 515)

The shower was a brief one at Sarborough and there's another one in the bag for Surrey as Will Fraine is leg-before to Dan Worrall, playing across the line.

Yorkshire are only 86 in front as Will Luxton comes to the crease for only his second County Championship innings.
