    Yorks 521 & 204-9 v Surrey 515

Two successive fours by Matthew Waite off Jamie Overton takes Yorkshire's total past 200.

The first is an edge over the keeper but he makes better contact with the second pull shot down to backward square leg.

    The lead is now 210.

WICKETpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Bell-Drummond c Neesham b Kerrigan 1 (Kent 72-2, target 365) v Northants

Maybe we were a little hasty in writing off the prospects of a result at Canterbury...

One brings two for Simon Kerrigan! The Northamptonshire spinner tempts Daniel Bell-Drummond to nudge outside off stump and the ball flies up into the hands of first slip.

Joe Denly is the new man in for Kent.

  3. 50 runs

for Ali Orrpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Sussex 588-9 & 88-1 v Leics 756-4 dec

Ali Orr reaches his second half-century of the game by turning Colin Ackermann past leg slip for four - the ninth of his innings.

It has taken him 62 balls - can he go on and complete a hundred, having missed out in his first knock?

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Crawley c McManus b Kerrigan 35 (Kent 64-1, target 365 v Northants)

One down, nine to go for Northamptonshire - in theory at least - as Simon Kerrigan breaks the opening partnership.

Zak Crawley goes to cut the left-armer and edges through to Lewis McManus, bringing Daniel Bell-Drummond to the wicket to join Ben Compton.

  5. for Jamie Overtonpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Yorks 521 & 188-9 v Surrey 515

    Jamie OvertonImage source, Rex Features

Steven Patterson is squared up by Jamie Overton and ball flies to slip where Will Jacks takes his second catch in quick succession off the England fast bowler.

There's a boundary for Matthew Waite to end the over and Yorkshire are 199 ahead - but there are, potentially, 50 overs left, so it looks like we may be in for a run-chase in Scarborough.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Clark c Kimber b Ackermann 25 (Sussex 588-9 & 79-1 v Leics 756-4 dec)

Man of the moment Colin Ackermann strikes at Hove as Tom Clark shapes to cut a ball that is too close to him for the shot and Louis Kimber takes the catch at slip. Sussex still 90 in arrears as Tom Alsop joins Ali Orr.

  7. Postpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Lancs 624-9 dec v Somerset 446 & 114-4

The Tom Bailey spin experiment seems to have been binned and Lancashire have now turned to Luke Wells to operate in tandem with Jack Morley.

So far, the spinners haven't been able to make further inroads and they're rattling through the overs quickly, which means we have just 46 remaining in the day.

At the same time, Somerset are still 64 short of making their opponents bat again so plenty to play for...

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Borthwick b Conners 12 (Durham 101-3, target 385 v Derbys)

All results still possible at Chester-le-Street, where Sam Conners has just taken the third Durham wicket, bowling home skipper Scott Borthwick for 12.

David Bedingham emerges to join Nic Maddinson at the crease, with Durham needing another 284 and Derbyshire seeking seven more wickets.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Thompson c Jacks b Overton 5 (Yorks 521 & 180-8 v Surrey 515)

Jordan Thompson squirts the first ball of a new Jamie Overton over past second slip for four runs.

The next is on a similar line but this time he edges straight to Will Jacks, who takes the catch in front of his face.

Overton has four wickets and Yorkshire have only two left.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Tattersall lbw Jacks 14 (Yorks 521 & 175-7 v Surrey)

A twist in the tale at North Marine Road.

Jonny Tattersall looks to turn Will Jacks' off-spin into the leg-side but the ball hurries on a little and the umpire says he is out.

Yorkshire 182 ahead as Jordan Thompson comes out to bat.

    Kent 50-0 v Northants (target 365)

It's been a mixed spell for Jimmy Neesham so far - he's had the batters playing and missing a few times and got a couple of deliveries to rear up unexpectedly as well.

Just now, Neesham also had what a looked a decent appeal for caught behind against Ben Compton turned down.

On the other side of the coin, Zak Crawley has smoked the New Zealand all-rounder for a couple of classy off-side boundaries and Kent are 50 without loss.

    Notts 117-3 - target 455

There's so much experience in this Glamorgan attack but the pitch is blunting their efforts to push for victory over the Division Two leaders.

Michael Hogan drops short in his latest over and Joe Clarke has plenty of time to get on top of the bounce and force it away through the covers for four.

    He is 56 not out.

  13. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Sussex 588-9 & 52-0 v Leics 756-4 dec

You'd think Colin Ackermann would be a bit tired after his 277 not out earlier on, but he is brought on to bowl the 11th over of the Sussex second innings.

It's tidy enough apart from one short delivery which Ali Orr pulls for four to post a 50 partnership with Tom Clark.

  14. Postpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Yorks 521 & 166-6 v Surrey 515

Jamie Overton is back into the attack for Surrey.

A single for Matthew Waite from a no-ball is the only addition to the score in that over.

    Yorkshire are 172 ahead.

  15. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Lancs 624-9 dec v Somerset 446 & 89-4

Jack Morley's success so far today has convinced Lancashire that spin is the key to victory.

However, they don't have another specialist twirler in the team so seamer Tom Bailey is now bowling a bit of a spin in tandem with Morley.

So far, they haven't been able to find a way past Somerset's youthful fifth-wicket pair of Lewis Goldsworthy and James Rew, but the visitors are still 89 short of making their opponents bat again.

  16. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Sussex 588-9 & 42-0 v Leics 756-4 dec

Chris Wright drops short at the start of a new over and Ali Orr goes down on one knee before depositing it over square leg for six.

He's less convincing from the final ball of the over as an attempted pull shot flies over the keeper's head for four off the top edge.

  17. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Yorks 521 & 155-6 v Surrey 515

That's too easy for Matthew Waite who tickles it away for four as Don Worrall strays well outside leg stump. Waite is 20 not out and Yorkshire lead by 161.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Jones c du Plooy b Dal 23 (Durham 73-2, target 385 v Derbys)

Anuj Dal has just raised Derbyshire hopes at Chester-le-Street by removing both Durham openers in quick succession.

The Derbyshire seamer, having already bowled Alex Lees for 41, follows that up with the wicket of Michael Jones (23).

Two new men at the crease now for Durham and that target of 385 seems a long way away.

  19. 50 runs

for Joe Clarkepublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Notts 104-3 - target 455

    Joe ClarkeImage source, Rex Features

James Harris tries a short ball and Joe Clarke turns it down to long leg for one to bring up his 50 from 98 balls.

Good innings so far, but he needs to keep it going if Notts are to avert the danger of a second defeat of the season by Glamorgan.

  20. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    Kent 22-0 v Northants (target 365)

So, what of the putative run chase at Canterbury? Well, it hasn't exactly gathered pace so far, with Kent going along at two an over and needing around five and a half if they're going to get near this 365 target.

Zak Crawley has just pulled Ben Sanderson to the boundary but it's hard to imagine Kent are looking to have a serious tilt at this. Northamptonshire will look to pick up a couple of quick wickets and see if they can induce a bit of panic in the Kentish ranks.
