Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 38-1
Spin from both ends to bring us to the tea break. Lancashire need 240 more runs to win. Northants require nine wickets.
Somerset 424 & 69-1 v Yorkshire 276
Matt Renshaw goes to reverse sweep Jack Shutt, but succeeds only in looping the ball up to first slip, where Tom Kohler-Cadmore does the honours.
Gloucestershire 201 & 59-2 v Hampshire 457
A cracking shot from Ollie Price off Kyle Abbott brings up the 50 partnership between him and Miles Hammond.
Some resistance after those two early Keith Barker wickets.
Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 34-1
Josh Bohannon has hit Ben Sanderson for four boundaries early in his innings to get the scorecard moving.
Bohannon managed 91 against Somerset last week, but he had been out of form since his career-best 231 against Gloucestershire in April.
Kent 165 & 294-4, Warwickshire 225
Joe Denly and Jordan Cox have safely negotiated 30 overs in the afternoon session, taking their fifth-wicket stand to 189.
And that is now a new Kent landmark in games between these two counties.
It overhauls the 182 put on by Kent pair Jack Mason and William Rashleigh at the Private Banks Sports Ground, Catford in 1899 - back when Queen Vic was still on the throne. History.
Gloucestershire 201 & 48-2 v Hampshire 457
Close to a third wicket for Hampshire.
Miles Hammond edges a Kyle Abbott ball just past a diving Ian Holland at second slip and it flies down to the boundary. It would have been a spectacular catch.
Six fours already for Hammond, with Hampshire on the hunt for wickets.
Both Glamorgan openers have been and gone. Captain David Lloyd (2) and Eddie Byrom (1) are out with them 35-2 in reply to Leicestershire's 584.
Pieter Malan's first Middlesex innings ends on 64, a first Sussex wicket for Aristides Karvelas. Middlesex are 283-5.
And Derbyshire are 312-9 against Nottinghamshire.
Somerset 424 & 57-0 v Yorkshire 276
A superb session for Somerset ends with the home county holding all the aces against Yorkshire.
Somerset 424 & 55-0 v Yorkshire 276
Stand and deliver cricket from Matt Renshaw.
Matthew Waite pitches it up outside off and Renshaw launches it dead straight for a maximum. Like a mid-iron for those of you who like your golf.
The lead is now over 200 and with 40 overs to go today, Somerset may want to give Yorkshire a few overs tonight if they can rack up another 150 runs or so in 30-odd overs.
Porter b Worrall 2 (Essex 271 & 208, Surrey 319)
Jamie Porter is last man out for Essex after a 41-run stand with Simon Harmer, who is unbeaten on 38.
Probably not quite enough to affect the outcome of this match - but setting Surrey 161 to win against Harmer should at least make it interesting.
Hashim Amla up against his fellow South African should certainly be a captivating duel.
38 overs left in the day - and the lights are on in South London.
Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 7-1
First blood for Northants!
Keaton Jennings made a triple last week for Lancashire, but he won't be making a major contribution here.
Huge appeal from Ben Sanderson as he hits Jennings on the pad and it's given.
Was it slightly outside the line? It doesn't matter, the umpire's call is final.
Somerset 424 & 35-0 v Yorkshire 276
Excellent stuff from Somerset since lunch.
Marchant de Lange and Kasey Aldridge took two wickets apiece to polish off the Yorkshire innings, although the White Rose nudged one clear of the follow-on target. 3-23 from Aldridge, the pick of the bowling
With the bat, openers Matt Renshaw and Tom Lammonby have rattled up 35 in seven overs, as they look for quick runs.
Kent 165 & 270-4, Warwickshire 225
Joe Denly (115) and Jordan Cox (63) are stil going very nicely in Birmingham.
Their fifth-wicket stand has now reached 165.
It is a while away yet from the Kent county fifth-wicket record, 277, set by two Kentish greats, Les Ames and Frank Woolley against the New Zealand tourists at Canterbury in 1931. But that, to be fair, is one of the smaller partnership records in English county cricket.
Northants 235 & 174 v Lancashire 132 & 6-0
Luke Wells is gifted a four down to long leg to get Lancashire's chase up and running. Only 274 more runs to win!
That 95-run stand between Ryan Rickelton and Simon Kerrigan has made this total a lot higher than it might have been.
And with Surrey and Hampshire, the two counties above them, well on course for victories, the Red Rose really have to get this score. If not, their hopes of the Championship could be all but over.
Gloucestershire 201 & 14-2 v Hampshire 457
Knocked him over!!
Keith Barker removes the other Gloucestershire opener as he sends Chris Dent's off-stump cartwheeling out of the ground. Not sure if it kept low or was too full, but far too good for Dent.
We still have a potential 55 overs to go today and Hampshire may fancy a three-day win.
Brooke Guest is out for 109 as Derbyshire are now 302-8, still 316 behind Nottinghamshire.
Leicestershire were eventually out for 584, with Roman Walker the last to go for 64 against Glamorgan. In the early stages of their innings, the Welsh county are 5-0.
At Lord's, Pieter Malan and John Simpson have put on 128 for the fifth wickets as Middlesex are 265-4, just over halfway towards Sussex's mammoth 523.
Northants 235 & 174 all out v Lancashire 132
Jack White goes for an almighty heave, but the ball and bat are in different postcodes, as the stumps are shattered.
It's a fifth for Will Williams, who ends with 5-41. His first five-for in Lancashire colours.
The fourth innings target will be 278.
Essex 271 & 186-9, Surrey 319
Simon Harmer and Jamie Porter are holding up Surrey at The Oval.
They have now out on 19 in eight overs as the Surrey victory target gradually grows.
Essex now lead by 138 - still not enough to unduly trouble the Divison One table toppers.
But any side who has got to face Harmer in the final innings really doesn't want to be chasing too many.
Northants 235 & 170-9 v Lancashire 132
All very straightforward. Simple edge from Ben Sanderson second ball to Luke Wells for the most regulation of slip catches.
A second in the over for Will Williams, and his fourth of the innings.
Northants 235 & 170-8 v Lancashire 132
Simon Kerrigan is unhappy with himself, but he shouldn't be.
He has helped Ryan Rickelton add 95 and receives a great hand from the Wantage Road crowd.
He tries to cut Will Williams, but Rob Jones parries it up at second slip and first slipper Luke Wells takes a simple rebound.
