Derbyshire 223-4 v Nottinghamshire 618-8 dec
There is rain at Derby, so players have taken an early lunch.
Gloucestershire 113-4 v Hampshire 457
Successive fours from Ollie Price off Kyle Abbott brings up a half century.
It's his second of the season, but he has a lot of batting left to do if Gloucestershire are to get anywhere near the Hampshire first innings score.
Somerset 424, Yorkshire 221-5
Yorkshire have found it hard going this morning.
They are scoring at just two an over, as Tom Kohler-Cadmore nears his ton.
He is on 95. Jonny Tattersall is on 18.
England spinner Jack Leach has considered just nine runs this morning.
Northants 235 & 55-4 v Lancashire 132
Will Williams has been on the money this morning and he now has a wicket to show for those efforts.
An excellent delivery forces Rob Keogh to play and the edge is taken by sub George Lavelle (standing in for Dane Vilas as wicketkeeper).
Northants now lead by 158 runs, with six wickets remaining.
It's four for Bradley Currie! The left-armer has sent Max Holden packing for five. And to think he's only on trial for Sussex. Middlesex are 156-4.
Notts captain Steven Mullaney has now removed Derbyshire opposite number Leus du Plooy for five and they are 223-4, still trailing by 395.
While Leicestershire bat on against Glamorgan at Grace Road with the home side 461-7.
Gloucestershire 93-4 v Hampshire 457
Two wickets in Liam Dawson's first over!
James Bracey lasts two balls. Dawson tosses the second one up and Bracey obliges by returning a simple catch straight back to him.
Hampshire have been patient, but they have something to go at now.
Gloucestershire 93-3 v Hampshire 457
First show of intent in this session from a Gloucestershire batter.
Liam Dawson's left-arm spin is introduced and Miles Hammond is down the track to hit the first ball to the boundary.
But when he tries it again, the spinner sends it past the bat and Hammond is way out of his crease and Ben Brown whips off the bails.
Definitely a victory for Dawson.
Essex 271 & 83-3, Surrey 319
England's Dan Lawrence has made a confident start at The Oval, against Surrey.
Three boundaries already in his 20 minutes at the crease, to match opener Nick Browne's tally - and he's been there not far short of two hours for his 26.
Gloucestershire 83-2 v Hampshire 457
I hope the visitors to the Cheltenham Festival are enjoying everything that goes along with this staple of county cricket.
The action has been a little staid this morning - 18 overs, 40 runs, no wickets.
Northants 235 & 45-3 v Lancashire 132
Tom Bailey is back in business after that short delay.
Luke Procter had wafted at a couple, but here's a genuine nick, which is pouched low down at first slip by George Lavelle.
Wiaan Mulder will not match his 235. He's gone for 156 and Leicestershire are 434-7 against Glamorgan.
What a morning for Bradley Currie. He now has three wickets on his first-class Sussex debut with Stevie Eskinazi (11) and Sam Robson (62) his latest victims and Middlesex are 135-3.
And Nottinghamshire captain Steven Mullaney has made the breakthrough at Derby, removing Wayne Madsen for 74 with Derbyshire 198-3.
Somerset 424, Yorkshire 203-5
An hour gone at Taunton - and Yorkshire have gione past 200 to c laim their first batting bonus point.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore is now just 11 short of his century on 89.
Northants 235 & 38-2 v Lancashire 132
The covers are off, the umpires are in place and here come the players.
Time for some more cricket - 100 overs left today at Wantage Road.
Essex 271 & 65-3, Surrey 319
First Surrey scalp of the day at The Oval as Tom Lawes, who went wicketless in the Essex first innings, strikes in his first over.
Tom Westley, who survived a big LBW shout from Kemar Roach in the very first over of the day, is definitely gone this time as he feathers an edge to Ben Foakes.
Essex, who were 48 behind on first innings, are at least in credit now.
Somerset 424 v Yorkshire 194-5
The breakthrough on day three at Taunton.
Matthew Waite will not be pleased with himself as a leg-stump half volley from Kasey Aldridge is sent straight to George Bartlett at short mid-wicket.
Jonny Tattersall is the new man in.
Kent 165 &198-4, Warwickshire 225
Maybe it's in solidarity with hearing the news that they have just gone off at Wantage Road, Northampton too, but there is weather-related news now from Edgbaston.
Umpires Michael Gough and Ian Blackwell have now decreed that there will officially be no play before lunch, which will be taken at 12:30.
Good, sensible early decision. And it's a very good lunch here too. As umpire Blackwell will know well, from his days here in Birmingham on loan in 2012, when he was in the Bears' last-but-one title-winning team.
Play still underway in six of the eight scheduled games though . . .
Northants 235 & 38-2 v Lancashire 132
Apologies to Scott Read, but the players are heading off at Wantage Road.
It is not much more than drizzle, but enough to stop play.
Kent 165 & 198-4, Warwickshire 225
It's not very wet rain, but it's still raining at Edgbaston, the skies are a murky grey and you can barely make all the towering structures in the city centre at the Birmingham End.
Might be a while before they even consider playing.
Leicestershire 402-6 v Glamorgan
Wiaan Mulder is obviously in wonderful nick.
A week after a career-best 235 not out versus Sussex, the South Africa all-rounder has another biggie.
It's also maximum batting points for Leicestershire with eight overs to spare.
Northants 235 & 38-2 v Lancashire 132

After being too sunny and too warm on the first day for a full day's play, and then on Day Two it was too cloudy and too dark for much play after tea, we're hoping the conditions are just perfect for a full day's play on the third day.
They'll have to be, we've 112 overs to be bowled with the close of play scheduled for 7pm. Cancel all dinner reservations.
Northamptonshire are in a strong position and with the pace this game has advanced at so far, they'll be hoping its a match winning position tonight.
Lancashire need to bowl themselves back into this game, and potentially the title race.
