Dane Paterson beats D'Oliveira outside the off stump first up but the batter gets into line comfortably thereafter.
He picks up two with a deft jab into cover point to move to 30.

Tom Hartley has attempted to move the scoring along since he came to the crease, but he can only spoon a reverse sweep to Dan Lawrence, who is under the helmet at gully.

Ollie Pope tries to come down the wicket Bazball-style, but makes a hash of an attempt to play to leg and a leading edge just clears the cover fielder and runs away for four.
A couple of twos end the over and Pope is now 40 not out.

Will Rhodes drives Payne down the ground for four to reach double figures.
He's struck on the pad next ball but the ball is clearly going down leg.
Four more with a neat clip through square leg.
Solid start to the session for Warwickshire.

Ollie Pope dabs George Hill away to third man for three runs and the Surrey total reaches three figures.
Hill thinks there was a thin edge by Ben Foakes at the end of the over but again the umpire turns down Yorkshire appeals.
Essex v Lancs 89-7
George Bell had looked in decent touch on first-class debut, certainly one to watch in the years to come.
However, he gets a thick inside edge back onto his stumps as he looks to drive Sam Cook through the off side.

Confident appeal by Ben Coad against Ollie Pope. Looks like it came off pad not bat and umpire Alex Wharf says 'no'. Surrey followers breathe a collective sigh of relief.

The first boundary of the afternoon as George Hill strays onto the pads and that is easy pickings for Ben Foakes.
The next over starts with a four as Ollie Pope edges Ben Coad and the ball deflects away off third slip's hands and away to the rope. Definitely not a chance.
Worcs 103-5 v Notts
A maiden from Mullaney.
Gareth Roderick is struck on the pads by Paterson and the umpire turns down an LBW shout. A bit high but that must have been close.
In the next over, D'Oliveira guides the Pears past 100 with a steer to square leg off the bowling of Mullaney.

Ben Sanderson bowls the first over of the afternoon to Tom Abell and it is a maiden - his sixth from eight so far.
Hampshire v Kent 39-5
A lovely straight drive back past Mohammad Abbas from Joey Evison to start the afternoon session.
Kent could do with a few more of those.

Brett D'Oliveira will try to rebuild the innings with new batter Gareth Roderick after Ed Barnard fell to the last ball before lunch.
