  1. Lunch at Headingleypublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Yorks 36-1 (target 241) v Glos

Adam Lyth finishes off the morning session with a couple of classy boundaries off Tom Price and Yorkshire are making steady progress now as they chase this target of 241 to beat Gloucestershire and secure safety.

Lyth is 16 not out, with George Hill on 14 and Yorkshire need another 205 to win. There are 66 overs left in the day, so you feel a result is highly likely one way or the other.

  2. 250 runs

up for Middlesexpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 250-4

The loss of Pieter Malan for 93 hasn't put Middlesex off their stride as Stevie Eskinazi, on 34, and John Simpson, 32 from only 28 balls, bring up a second batting point for the visitors.

40 overs to go in bonus-point territory.

    Yorks 20-1 (target 241) v Glos

Yorkshire nerves won't have been helped by news of the wickets tumbling at Edgbaston.

All the White Rose can do is focus on the job in hand - and they've weathered the storm after the early loss of Jack Wharton.

Adam Lyth and George Hill have eight apiece as we approach the lunch interval. The 241 target to beat Gloucestershire still looks a long way off, however.

  4. wicket

WICKET Brown c Bethell b Norwell 9published at 12:18 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Warwicks 272-4 dec v Hants 92-5

Another for Liam Norwell - and Warwickshire have their visitors five down now!

Ben Brown steers Norwell to third slip, where Jacob Bethell scoops it up low.

Hampshire are still trailing by 180. Out comes Aneurin Donald to join James Vince.

  5. Postpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Warwicks 272-4 dec v Hants 81-4

Hampshire captain James Vince has begun to steady his ship after that flurry of wickets - he's raced to 23 from just 21 balls.

Vince has already struck four boundaries, including two clipped off the pads in that last Liam Norwell over.

Ben Brown is out there alongside Vince, with the visitors needing 42 more to avoid the follow-on.

  6. wicket

    WICKET Benjamin c Montgomery b Patterson-White 0published at 12:09 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Notts 662-5d v Durham 140-6

    Another one for Notts.

Chris Benjamin dabs down Liam Patterson-White's left-arm spin on the on side.

But he only finds the hands of short leg!

It's very sharp work from Matt Montgomery. He scooped the ball up initially before completing the catch.

Second bowling point banked for Notts, they're closing in on promotion. Three more wickets and they're up.

  7. MIDDLESEX LEADpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 226-4

John Simpson has joined Stevie Eskinazi and quickly finds three fours to help nudge Middlesex into the lead.

Glamorgan will dearly be hoping Worcestershire can limit the damage.

Wickets tumbling in this morning session!

  9. wicket

WICKET Maddinson c Clarke b Broad 40published at 12:00 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Notts 662-9d v Durham 135-5

Australian Nic Maddinson had provided a brief counterattack for Durham with four fours and three sixes but it hasn't lasted.

Stuart Broad bowls a tight line from round the wicket to the left-hander and straightens one just enough to find an edge to first slip standing quite wide.

Maddinson was the main obstacle for Notts today and it's hard to see where resistance might come from now.

  10. wicket

WICKET Gubbins b Norwell 0published at 11:57 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Warwicks 272-4 dec v Hants 62-4

Cries of "You Bears" at Edgbaston as the fourth Hampshire wicket falls.

Liam Norwell is brought back into the attack and his first ball tempts Nick Gubbins into the drive, but the end result is an inside edge that slams into his off stump.

At this rate, Warwickshire might even have a slim chance of enforcing the follow-on! Hampshire need to make 123 to avoid it.

  11. wicket

WICKET Malan c Roderick b Waite 93published at 11:55 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 204-4

    Just what Glamorgan needed.

Pieter Malan has put Middlesex in a great position but he can't steer them into the lead and falls short of his century.

Matthew Waite has him caught behind and Worcestershire have a major breakthrough.

  12. wicket

    WICKET Wharton b T Price 4published at 11:52 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Yorks 5-1 (target 241) v Glos

Not the start Yorkshire wanted as they chase this tricky-looking target of 241.

Jack Wharton, having opened up with a boundary off Tom Price, tries to crash him through the covers again and drags onto his stumps.

George Hill is the new man at the wicket.

  13. Elsewhere in Division Onepublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

Kent have been bowled out for 492 by Somerset to gain a first-innings lead of 290. Kasey Aldridge finished with career-best figures of 6-110, while Hamidullah Qadri made his highest first-class score of 87.

Surrey are in all sorts of bother at Old Trafford. They've lost a couple of wickets this morning to leave them 169-7 and still trailing Lancashire by 343.

Northants have also lost a couple of wickets against Essex. They're 84-4 replying to Essex's first-innings 263 all out.

  14. 200 runs

up for Middlesexpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Worcs 225 v Middx 200-3

Pieter Malan into the 90s now and he and Stevie Eskinazi have brought a batting point up for Middlesex.

They're well set for a few more and a sizeable lead.

    Glamorgan need a Worcestershire comeback.

  15. wicket

    WICKET Hudson-Prentice c & b Patel 2published at 11:48 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Sussex 157-6 v Glam 533-9d

    Maybe they don't!

A third wicket in 11 balls for Glamorgan.

Four men around the bat for Ajaz Patel.

So Fynn Hudson-Prentice comes down the wicket but only drives a catch to the bowler's left shoulder.

  16. wicket

Hampshire are three down at Edgbaston!

Henry Brookes picks up his first wicket of the innings, tempting Joe Weatherley to nudge outside off stump and Alex Davies takes his second catch.

Hampshire captain James Vince joins Nick Gubbins at the crease.

  17. wicket

WICKETSpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Sussex 154-5 v Glam 533-9d

James Harris has blown this innings open!

He got rid of Tom Clark and now removes Dan Ibrahim and Faheem Ashraf in four balls.

First Ibrhaim, on 10, goes to pull and gets a bottom edge that sends off stump flying out of the ground.

Then Ashraf can't drop his hands in time trying to let one go through that bounced a fraction and he gloves it behind.

    Glamorgan now firmly on top.

384 Sussex need to avoid the follow-on. Do they have any anyone to support Tom Haines, still there on 71?

  18. wicket

WICKET Singh-Dale run out 5published at 11:39 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Yorks 183 v Glos 190 & 233

Gloucestershire are all out as Ajeet Singh-Dale smears the ball to mid-off and sets off for a single - but he doesn't make his ground as Matt Fisher picks up and scythes down the stumps!

That means Yorkshire need 241 to win and guarantee their top-flight status.

  19. 'Glamorgan looking for 19 wickets'published at 11:37 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Sussex 140-3 v Glamorgan 533-9 dec

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan claimed two wickets in the first hour in the Hove sunshine as they looked to take 19 in two days.

Tom Alsop looked disappointed to be given out caught behind for 4 off Timm van der Gugten, and Tom Clark on 11 provided another catch for centurion Chris Cooke, this time off James Harris.

Skipper Tom Haines was keeping up his high strike-rate as he reached 50 off 62 balls with 10 fours.

Meanwhile Dan Ibrahim had to be promoted to five in the order because of Finn Hudson-Prentice and Charlie Tear being off the field yesterday through illness, and having to wait to come in.

There has already been some low bounce for the bowling from the sea end, and left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel was quickly brought on to try to find the rough.

While the weather is brighter at Hove today, the cloud on the horizon for Welsh followers is the strong progress of rivals Middlesex at Worcester.

  20. wicket

WICKET Clark c Cooke b Harris 11published at 11:32 British Summer Time 28 September 2022

    Sussex 136-3 v Glam 533-9d

A second wicket of the morning for Glamorgan.

James Harris bowls a fullish length outside off that lures the left-handed Tom Clark into having a drive and he nicks off.

    First bowling point for Glamorgan.
