Brilliant from Adil Rashid, who rattles through an over of leg-spin to haul back the run rate a little. Four dots and two singles off his first six balls.
That's the end of the powerplay.

Si Lomas: Wood can't be so one-dimensional. On this used pitch Mills surely the better option, still has the express pace but plenty of variations to go with it.
Kusal Mendis is back in the pavilion now, but he did manage to wallop Mark Wood for six en route to his 14-ball 18.

Harry Brook's body language is saying he's guilty there. He came in too far off the boundary,
Sam Curran hit for back-to-back boundaries by Pathum Nissanka.
The second is a flat-ish six which flies over the head of Harry Brook, who had just creeped in from the edge of the boundary at deep square leg.

Oliver Camp: Just an idea, but what if we tried bowling to the field instead of plonking the ball right into the sl... Scrap that, great bowling, great catch, great field placement, come on England!
Sam Curran into the fray, and a glimmer of a run out chance for Moeen Ali but his throw to the non-striker's end is too high and Dhananjaya de Silva makes his ground

Well that was timely.
Mark Wood is back on the field too.

Oh, what a catch! That is a terrific piece of work - he really had to cover a lot of ground.

Moments like that change games.
England were desperate for a wicket and he had to cover at least 50 metres to get there. He made it look so easy.
Kusal Mendis c Livingstone b Woakes 18
Chris Woakes bowls a wide with his final ball of the over, but the extra delivery gets the vital breakthrough for England.
It's a little short from the Warwickshire all-rounder but does not quite get up and Kusal Mendis makes good contact with a pull shot.
However, Liam Livingstone sprints round from behind square out in the deep as he stakes a belting catch on the move. Fantastic stuff.
Nasser Hussain just said on commentary that even "England's good balls are going for ones" which is a little bit of worry. Sri Lanka have started well.
Kusal Mendis shuffles across and strongly whips the fourth ball of Chris Woakes' second over for a wristy four through square leg.

I really hope it's not an injury to Mark Wood. It could be anything, bowlers often have to go off with problems with their boots or strapping somewhere.

Mark Wood went straight off the field at the end of that over.

That's a huge boundary. The bravery and control of that shot is incredible, to not think about ducking or pulling, staying in line instead.
There is so much skill. It was 94mph!
England look a little bit like they are trying to figure out their plans with their pace bowlers here.
The final ball of Mark Wood's over is pummeled for another maximum. This time Pathum Nissanka audaciously uppercuts him over a leaping Liam Livingstone down at third on the boundary.
Costly over for England.

Wow! That is a statement shot, taking on Mark Wood. It's nothing more than a pick-up.
There will be doubt in Wood's mind now - he'll be thinking he has to change his plans already.
Mark Wood into the attack and his first ball is sent high into the sky by Kusal Mendis, who plants his front foot, picks up the length and launches it over the square-leg boundary for a maximum.
A circumspect start from England, who look a little tense in the field. Maybe a few nerves around, even for a team as experienced as they are. They just need to feel their way into the contest.
Sri Lanka continue to milk singles off the rest of Woakes' over.

I like this start for Sri Lanka. They've been busy, taking the singles and running well between the wickets.
Every run is so important in T20 cricket - a win by 10 runs is a big margin.
