Five days and there would be more results in women's Test matches.
The full covers are being brought on now with the rain having got that much heavier. It is going to be hard for them to get back out there today now, I fear.
It did look very atmospheric with those leaden clouds overhead and the lights on, though. So, every cloud...

I don't think Heather Knight could have made her displeasure any more clear about this decision to go off. I would love to ask her just one question right now but it's pretty obvious what she's thinking.
Speaking of which, here is that non-appeal as Lauren Bell found Lara Goodall's outside edge. A big let off for the South Africa opener...

The worst will be when they get back in the dressing room and the bowling coach tells them they missed out on a wicket with that edge from Lara Goodall.
This is quite the stand-off, at least three or four England players have stayed out in the middle. The umpires stayed just off the square for a moment but they have now wandered off.
The light looks as much of an issue as the rain at the moment.

Sophie Ecclestone is still at second slip and she's not moving. She doesn't want to go.
SA 27-1
Maybe not. One ball into Bell's over and the umpires decide enough is enough. The South Africa batters are getting off in a hurry, England are far less keen to leave the field. They don't look best pleased with this decision.

The England fielders have really been up and about since play resumed but they are silenced momentarily as Goodall thumps a drive through mid-off for four to end the Cross over.
It's raining again, it is very dark at Taunton... but the umpires decide to keep them out there for now.

John: I become more convinced every time I see her play that Lauren Bell is going to be a star for England for a long time.

It would take a crowbar to prise Goodall onto the front foot. She hangs back in the crease and defends the ball but doesn't want to come forward.
Full toss to end the over from Bell but Goodall can't get it back past her with the drive. Maiden.
It is very gloomy around Taunton but the rain has not reached a level to really concern the umpires.
The umpires have a chat a couple of balls into the over, Goodall is even walking off but the result of that chat is that they're going to keep going for the time being.

Sue Redfern wants off.
It is raining but they are staying out there for now. The ground staff are poised though...

It is raining.
Goodall 8, Wolvaardt 11
A firm defensive push from Wolvaardt goes through the covers, it must have been well timed because it brings her two.
Meanwhile, I've got bad news to bring you on the weather front...

Anyone who says they didn't know they'd hit it is telling a fib...
Close again! That swing from Bell nearly does for Goodall as she drives at a delivery outside off. Very close to the edge.
In fact, we've just seen UltraEdge and there was a nick! No appeal from England. A big let off for Goodall.
