    Curran b Ellis 2 (Eng 193-5)

Bowled 'im. After two dot balls to start the over, Sam Curran tries something different but misses with the ramp and Nathan Ellis hits his off pole.

A second wicket for Ellis, he's been excellent today. Meanwhile, Dawid Malan is in at number seven for England.

A big hit from Moeen Ali who, with a flick of the wrists, sends the ball skywards and into the stands.

Glorious from Moeen Ali! Slower ball again from Sams but Moeen picks up and effortlessly swings the ball over the leg side for six.

Another over that looked like being a good one for Australia ends with an England boundary.

Two overs to go. Can England push on to 210? 220?

  6. wicket

    Brook c Richardson b Sams 12 (Eng 183-4)

Slower ball from Daniel Sams and Harry Brook picks out the fielder at deep mid-wicket.

Just a glimpse of what Brook can do after his starring role in Pakistan. Australia are chipping away late in the innings but England are still on for a mighty total.

Sam Curran is the new batter.

What a shot from Harry Brook. Yes it was a full wide delivery but to get your hands underneath the ball and chip it over backward point is a remarkable shot. It's one played by someone full of confidence.

Just as Australia thought they might get away with a boundary-free over, Harry Brook backs away a touch, creating a bit of width and helps the ball over short third for four. Useful.

Eight from the over which isn't too bad for the Aussies at this stage of the innings.

Alex Hales has made a statement at the start of this Australian leg of the winter. He is the man who holds the position at the moment and made sure he is the next name on the team sheet at the top of the order alongside Jos Butter.

Alex Hales' record in Australia is fantastic. He has scored heaps and heaps of runs in the Big Bash. He's done a brilliant job for England today. Two fresh batters now for England, which is ideal for the Australia bowlers as they look to keep the total down.

It wasn't pretty from Stokes, Kevin. But it was his first T20I in 18 months and first match for about a month so he might just be a little rusty.

Plus, he's replaced Ben Duckett who is not part of the World Cup squad...

Kevin Ticehurst: Apart from Buttler, why change a winning side from the Pakistan series? Stokes never looked like getting going at all.

What a brilliant knock from Alex Hales. We wondered whether it would be Hales or Phil Salt with Jos Buttler at the top of the innings. I think Hales has proven to Matthew Mott and Jos Buttler that this is the right decision.

Harry Brook is up and running. Richardson offers the width and the England right-hander gratefully accepts, slapping the ball backward of point for four.

Moeen Ali is out there with him now. This pair have four overs to get England up and above 200.

Alex Hales is not happy with himself there. He looked like he had given himself room to hit through extra cover but dragged it to mid-off. Instead he has picked out Tim David, who does not drop catches like that.

That one is out. Hales picks out long-off and finally has to go.

A slower ball from Kane Richardson and Alex Hales can't quite clear the tall Tim David at long off.

He's batted superbly but after the damage done by the openers, it's over to the England middle order to give the tourists a big finish.

Yep. Bump ball. Quick and easy decision for the third umpire.

  18. Umpire reviewpublished at 15.1 overs

The umpires are going to send this upstairs as Hales squeezes the ball into the covers.

The Aussies enquire about a catch but it looks like a bump ball to me. Hales' reaction suggests he isn't worried in the slightest.

  19. Eng 167-2published at 15 overs

Harry Brook comes in at four for England. Dawid Malan is likely to slide further down the order as England go in search of quick runs in these last five overs.

Ben Stokes is shaking his head. He's gone for the same shot before from the ball previously. David Warner has taken the catch, and then gone and set in the dugout rather than celebrate with the rest of his team-mates.
