Tattz: Absolutely glorious morning. Advent calendar chocolate consumed & England continuing where they left off in Test match cricket.

Rob Nield: If Brendon McCullum took over from Southgate we’d play: Pickford, TAA, Walker, Trippier, Bellingham, Maddison, Rashford, Grealish, Foden, Saka, Kane. And it would be majestic.

Zak Crawley has come out batting like the good Zak Crawley, not the swishy, edgy one we sometimes see.

He's already hit 17 boundaries and is 91 not out at lunch from 79 balls.

Even though we have only had one session it looks like it will be hard work for anyone to win this game because of the pitch.

But if England can pile up a score maybe they could apply some pressure.

Jos Buttler is working as a pundit in the Sky TV studio. He looks a little stunned.

England scored more runs in the first 20 overs of this match than they did in the T20 World Cup final last month.

The pitch is extremely flat and not encouraging for any bowler however Crawley and Duckett have played in exactly the way the regime want.

It wasn't a range of exotic, eccentric strokes. There were risks but only ones for old people like me. For me it was just standard - a few reverse sweeps and laps off the spinner.

They have timed the ball beautifully.

BazBall has arrived in Pakistan and England are 174-0 at lunch on the first day of the first Test.

That is the most runs they have EVER scored in the first session.

    No, you're not still dreaming.

Well, that was fun, but I need a lie down.

It's time for me to hand over to Matthew Henry, who has returned from his adventures in Australia to take you through the lunch break and the afternoon session.

Joe Bishop: Have England broken Test cricket?

  12. Lunch - Eng 174-0published at 27 overs

Well, it's pretty safe to say England have won the first session.

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett are applauded off the ground by their team mates, Crawley on 91 from 79 balls and Duckett 77 from 85.

    Staggering.

So Zak Crawley, with 91 from 79 balls, won't go past Jonny Bairstow in terms of England's fastest Test centuries today - Bairstow's one from 77 balls coming earlier this summer against New Zealand.

Also, what was Gilbert Jessop doing scoring 76-ball tons in 1902? Talk about being born in the wrong era.

Not convinced there's a bowling attack in history that could take 20 wickets on this surface. Maybe Hamilton, Verstappen etc.

    Oh, agonisingly close for Pakistan.

Zak Crawley mistimes a pull shot that loops up towards mid-on, where the ball just evades a diving Mohammad Ali.

Hands on heads all round. That's the only chance they've created so far.

Naseem Shah has been Pakistan's best bowler so far, but he's greeted by some immaculate timing from Ben Duckett as he clips one off his legs for yet another four.

    Chaos.

Adam Davies: Australia might be 500-3. Its taken them 142 overs. We would be on 955 in that time. Nothing to worry about. 5-0. Easy.

    Crawley 85, Duckett 70

That's Pakistan's best over for a while, maybe even the whole morning.

Just the two runs from it, as Zak Crawley plays it out cautiously.
