Successfully snoozed through a whole British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in the 80s. Had been to an all-night party, drove a work van there to arrive early to set up various helium-filled advertising balloons, and my permit allowed me to park more or less trackside. Which was where I managed to sleep through the Red Arrows, a Concorde fly-past and - I think - a Nigel Mansell win. In my defence, of course, F1 still reliably has that effect.

I'm currently second in a football World Cup predictor league with my mates. I've got to make my predictions for the knockout stage by 2pm and was thinking you could help.
Netherlands v USA... What do we reckon?

Babar is tormenting Leach at the moment. He came down the wicket for a reasonable delivery and Babar smashed it to long-on.
Babar Azam just looks utterly at ease. One Leach delivery is biffed back over the bowler's head. Another is flicked through mid-wicket.
The call to prayer is echoing around Rawalpindi.

Mohammad Rizwan is grinning cheekily at the end of the over - a maiden to Rizwan. Even in defence Rizwan just exudes energy. I imagine he's the type of guy who's always buzzing around the dressing room.

That was imperious because the ball before this there was someone on the boundary that was brought up and that's when Babar decided to play that sweep shot.
Babar 110, Rizwan 4
Jack Leach has gone over the wicket to Babar meaning the Pakistan skipper is just kicking the ball away. At least he did for five balls before swinging the final delivery to the fine leg boundary.
Rizwan will be on strike to start the next over.

David: On the flattest track imaginable, Shakeel still didn't look secure - poor technique.

Huge cheers greet Mohammad Rizwan's arrival at the crease with the Pakistan keeper reunited in the middle with Babar. You don't need me to tell you these two like batting together.

Goodness me. That was a loose shot. Shakeel was dabbling outside off stump.
Shakeel c Pope b Robinson 37 (Pak 413-4)
In the first over after tea! Ollie Pope throws the ball high into the air after taking a regulation nick off a seamer. We haven't seen many of those in this match. Saud Shakeel was trying to cut.
Ollie Robinson has his first wicket.
Babar 116, Shakeel 35
Babar Azam is already out there before England's players have all made it to their huddle. I think he fancies a few more.

You cannot fault England. They have tried everything.
People who manage to sleep at sporting events confuse me.

I slept through Steve Waugh's record-equalling 100 at the SCG vs Eng in 2003 - actually at the ground. The sun was warm and off I snoozed...

Firstly the good news. I found my laptop charger. It had been moved to under the sofa. Where else?
Your stories of things you slept through have been getting me through.
Thanks Aymen. That Babar hundred might have been the most inevitable one I've seen since Steve Smith in the 2019 Ashes.
Well, it's been rather eventful since lunch.
Stokes has tried almost every combination of fielders in the book.
Babar managed to reach his eighth Test hundred.
And, Root so far has rubbed a ball on Leach and Pope's head. Who's next?
If that doesn't sum up Test cricket, I'm not sure what does.
I'll hand over to Matthew Henry to take you through the rest.

It is a tough wicket to play on - a batter's paradise. Shakeel is struggling but is still out there. England can put their feet up and figure out what funky fields they can come up with to get a wicket.
