    Eng 241-7

Another thoroughly entertaining first half of the session. England have added 61 runs in 13 overs since lunch but also lost their last two recognised batters.

Abrar Ahmed, meanwhile, must be thinking that Test cricket is a breeze. He's got 7-99 in 20 overs on debut.

It's gone past the stumps, it's gone past the wicket keeper and run down to the fine-leg boundary.

  3. Eng 241-7published at 47 overs

Mark Wood must be wondering what all the fuss is about - he's smashed Abrar for two boundaries in the over!

Well, I say thumped. The first of them is an inside edge that scoots just past leg stump and runs away for four.

The second really is thumped, though. A tad short from Abrar and Wood rocks back and hammers the ball through mid-wicket.

Wood is a capable batter. He was a batter who bowled medium pace in his teenage years.

A couple of singles from Nawaz's over but, let's be honest, we're all just waiting for the next over as Abrar continues his pursuit of a 10-wicket haul on Test debut.

  7. Eng 231-7published at 45 overs

Mark Wood joins Ollie Robinson in the middle for England and blocks the last ball.

Pakistan are into the bowlers. How many more can England get from here?

Abrar is enjoying himself. He's picked up seven wickets. He's caused all sorts of issues for England's batsmen.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44.5 overs

Jacks lbw Abrar 31 (Eng 231-7)

It is seven for Abrar on debut! This is remarkable.

Another sweep shot - one of many from England - and once Jacks misses with it, he's in trouble.

No bat involved, pitched in line, impact in line and umpire's call on hitting the stumps. That's enough for Pakistan.

England seven down, all wickets falling to the debutant.

Appeal for leg before and Aleem Dar gives it out. He's going to review it as everyone else has done today.

Is that seven from Abrar? The umpire thinks so and up goes the finger as Jacks misses with a sweep.

We'll go upstairs to find out.

That turned a mile. If it's doing that today, it'll be interesting to see what happens towards the end of the Test match.

  13. Eng 229-6published at 44 overs

How has that missed!? Nawaz produces an absolute beauty. He darts one in on a length to Robinson and the ball turns and bounces sharply. The batter was nowhere near it but the bounce took it over the top.

Normally I’d be in the negative camp for some of the shots England played this morning. However, if you’re going to have wins like Rawalpindi, you’re going to have collapses playing this way. Personally, having won seven out of eight tests, I’d back them playing this way more times than not. Trust the process.

A wicket maiden for the impressive Abrar as Ollie Robinson, in at number eight for England, sees out the over.

Stokes expression when he realised that ball had bowled him really was a picture. Abrar beat him all ends up.

Stokes can't believe how he's missed that. The answer is that it has pitched around about middle and leg and clipped the top of off.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42.3 overs

    Stokes b Abrar 30 (Eng 228-6)

Googly! Stokes didn't pick it and Abrar Ahmed has six on debut!

The England captain pushed forward to a ball pitching on leg stump and looks on in horror as it turns sharply away from him and hits the top of off stump.

That is a beautiful delivery from the wrist spinner.

I don't think he quite got hold of that because he was quite anxious and looking for the fielder but it just went for six.
