  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 35.2 overs

    Duckett b Abrar 79 (Eng 147-4)

Well that will make Pakistan feel better - and it is Abrar Ahmed again. That's 10 for the match!

It is a touch fortunate as it wasn't a great ball. It was very short and Duckett understandably went for the pull, but the ball kept very low and clattered into the base of the stumps.

    They all count.

Runs coming pretty straightforwardly now for England, no need to take any risks.

The batters managed to get back for three somehow. That was extraordinary running.

  3. Eng 143-3published at 35 overs

This game has raced along so quickly it is easy to forget it is only day two.

Ben Duckett gets the sweep out again and that is great running, getting through for three.

Zahid Mahmood ends the over with a fine ball that spins away from Harry Brook but his exasperated expression afterwards says it all. Pakistan look a little bit deflated out there.

Following on from my controversial decision in the last Test to rebrand 'Bazball' as McCricket, I'm now considering parallel marketing opportunities for 'nuggety' openers, spinners bowling an absolute 'apple pie', selectors giving things a 'shake' up and commentators describing stressed looking captains looking 'fried'.

Oooh, that's a great comeback from Abrar Ahmed.

Smacked for boundaries earlier in the over he gets one to turn sharply away from the left-handed Ben Duckett, who was beaten all ends up.

I wondered when England would start to accelerate. If they get another hundred here, they'll really be on top.

That's a shot of some authority from Harry Brook. He's enjoying himself out there in the floodlit Multan stadium.

  9. 6 runs

    Eng 134-3published at 33.2 overs

    Utterly dismissive from Harry Brook.

Abrar Ahmed is too short and Brook has powered the ball over the rope for six.

Brook repeats the trick the next ball, though it takes a couple of bounces before going over the rope.

The floodlights are flickering here in Multan.

The cameras keep zooming in on Babar Azam. That could be such a crucial moment in this match. Ben Duckett is looking comfortable out there and had barely offered a chance until that moment.

England's lead is now above 200.

That was probably the worst piece of cricket we've seen all tour.

That was straight out of a village cricket compilation. Each one of these runs are going to feel like a dagger to the heart for Pakistan.

Loving the cricket. This England team seem to know when to attack and when to hold. I’m guessing a certain Mr Stokes will be swinging his guns soon though.

It was a very simple catch. It was a dolly. He was so surprised to see it coming.

The catch has been put down! My goodness, Babar Azam what have you done?

  17. dropped catch

Duckett dropped on 69published at 31.1 overs

Oh no, Babar! The Pakistan skipper has dropped an absolute dolly.

Ben Duckett completely mistimes his pull and it went straight to Babar, who spilled the catch.

Abrar Ahmed has a rueful smile on his face. I suppose you aren't going to lambast your captain on debut are you?

Easy accumulation right now for the England batters. There's a bit of a lull in the atmosphere as well here in Multan. It's been boisterous but there's almost an air of serenity right now.

We have had our first light meter check by the umpires. It is looking dark out there.
